Do you say thank you to the driver when getting off the bus?

Think you've got to be a bit of a prick if you don't say thank you and it's a normal front door entrance/exit bus.

I expect many bus drivers consider it at least a small part of any job satisfaction they might have. Why would you not want to be a part of that, especially as it's free to do and the effort is negligible.

Tbf I don't initiate a clap when a plane lands (I will join if others are doing it), but I do always say thank you to whoever is at the front when getting off the plane, although I think sometimes it's just flight attendants rather than the pilot.

Bet you clap in the cinema too.

How is that at all comparable? :|

If a plane is landing there is at least some chance the pilot will hear, no one involved in a movie would ever hear you clapping in a theater.

I say thank you when getting off from the back as well sometimes if it's not super crowded, but definitely not as often when I get off in the front.

The person who made the plane can't hear either.

Of course I say thanks,it's common courtesy. You'd have to be very rude not too.

Only if I’m getting off at the door by the driver. I’m not shouting it out loud if I get off in the middle like a nutcase. Saying that I did accidentally thank a cash machine once.

 I miss all the best conversations.

That's just incredibly uncool  I'd play surviving a flight totally nonchalantly 8-)

But seriously, if I could thank the pilot I would. And though I wouldn't join in with the applause I would thank cabin staff as I departed.

Always, as others have said, its costs nothing and is a common courtesy.

I used to shout "Thank you very much mister driver!" very loudly as a child, but since I've grown up I don't really say anything.

Clapping when a plane lands just seems a little rude if anything, it's like you doubted the pilot was going to be able to pull if off

Also aren't most flights done by the computer, with the pilot only really taking over for the take-off, landing and emergencies? Bunch of glory hogs

I imagine that's how Skynet will actually take over. It'll either become obsessed with us praising it for every little thing, or end us all because we kept thanking humans for the stuff it was actually doing.

The question is : do you thank the driver for letting you on in the first place?

I always say hello, then sometimes say thanks but I'm not sure why

I always thank cash machines and self service checkouts. Why? Skynet.

Sadly I don't think thanking cash machines and the like is going to earn us enough grace to make our machine masters forget bastards like this:
