Do you sell/trade in your games?

Anything to do with games at all.

Do trade in and sell your games when you've finished with them?

Well, do you? I don't but I might start selling them after I've completed them. I mean, if I buy a game at £40 and compelte it within a week, i'm bound to be able to get £25-£30 for it. Which could go towards a new game and I've still had the experience of it. At the same time though. I'm sort of a collecter...with no reason. I don't understand why I collect it. It'll just sit there.

I do the same.

I still have every game from the Spectrum onwards just laying about. I just can't bring myself to sell any of them.

I never used to, but since the 360, I trade in every game that I consider fully completed. It helps that Xbox.com provides a persistent record of all the games I've played. Makes it easier to let them go.

Games that otherwise would have gone into a cupboard, never to be played again, are effectively getting me a free console. All the money I get from trading-in goes to a separate savings account, and will eventually buy me a PS3 or Wii (or whatever follows the 360). I could go and buy one tomorrow, but I love the idea of getting one for nothing.

I've still got all the other games I've bought over the years. No point in getting rid of them now.

Have everything from Playstion/Saturn onwards, greatly regretted handing down my megadrive and snes stuff to my cousins years ago. They never looked after if too.

I keep the ones I regard as "AAA classics" or ones I love.

Flog the rest.

That's genius Rinks. I think I'll start doing that from now on. I don't know if I can bring myself to sell MGS4 though. :(

I think I'll start after I complete the force unleashed.

Multiplayer games however, are always keepers.

I never used to, but now I find myself selling on a lot of games, and will only keep a game if I really enjoyed it and theres a possibility of me playing it through again.

Collector to trader and much the happier for it.

Collectors need to honestly ask themselves what they get out of having loads of games lying around that are never going to get played again.

I only trade in games if it's against an updated "non-sequel" version of the same.

Or if the game I'm trading is Haze.

I have to since I usually can't afford games otherwise. I wish I didn't have to as I would love to still have some 360 games and also my old PS1 collection. :(

I normally convince myself I dont trade in games because i'd like to build a nice collection, but in reality, I just can't stand the fact that I spend 30-40 on a game, to then trade it in for £12 in GAME against something at full RRP, I'd rather keep it on my shelf instead of getting that much back on something.

See this is why I'm thinking about ebaying the games instead. You'd get £20+ back easily.

True, I'm just a bit lazy, can't be doing with advertising them and then posting them out ;)

I'm the same. Need to start doing it though. I could get a hell of alot of the money I spend on games back and I still get the "experience."

Nope, I've only traded in a couple of games, and I think I've bought them back (I know I re-bought 1080 and Blast Corps, not sure if I traded in another game). I like to keep all my games, I've become more of a collector than a player now as some games I have but have never played
