I answered no because I put my phone on silent rather than turn it off.

 I'm sure the rest of the cinema were with you though. What did you shout, out of interest? I want to picture this moment. Was it a stern "can you please keep it down" or did you absolutely lose it?

No I lost it. What put me over the edge was them standing up and walking around (right in front of me) several times showing what text messages they'd received. I think I shouted something like "SIT THE strawberry float DOWN, JESUS CHRIST!".

It wasn't even a good movie I wanted to see! It was a free ticket from Limitless but it was the principle. Imagine if it had been Infinity War. :dread:

You're my strawberry floating hero

What's the problem people have with sticking it on silent? On my phone there's 3 options from the drop down menu, on, off with vibration and off without vibration.

Did I completely miss 'that scene' in the Last Jedi? I don't recall anything that was tense/quiet? Someone spoiler box me what it was?

This is why capital punishment should come back.

Find the gif, apply the img or webm tags as needed, then enclose all of that in URL tags with a link to the video.

No. I used to but now it goes on silent because I know I can trust it not to make a noise during the film.

I also won't talk during the film at all because I'm not an asshole.

I find it strange that anyone* would have a phone and not be confident enough to use a basic built in feature like DND.

* Ok not 'anyone' but anyone who posts here at least.

I’m guessing you’re referring to ‘Do Not Disturb’? I’ve no idea where that is on my phone, never seen it.

Depends what phone you have I guess, but on modern Android its under sound settings. On my phone it comes on when you press the volume down button when the volume is already silent, I've also set it to appear as an option on the quick settings dropdown menu.

There's also a preferences option under the sound menu which allows you to set automatic rules for when do not disturb turns on, you can set it to turn on automatically on a timer (week nights after 11 for example) or whenever you have a calendar appointment.

You can also do it from the quick actions if you swipe down you can toggle between sound, vibrate and silent as well as enabling airplane mode there too.

On iOS it's on the swipe up menu.

If the phone is on there's still an opportunity to check it.

Sounds a lot simpler just to turn it off, TBH.
