I'm currently watching BBC South Today - a great way to highlight what a gooseberry fool area I live in. Focusing on all the bad points, and other 'news' that is of no interest to anyone. The presenter is also highly annoying - revelling in her smugness, and loving the fact that she's the main presenter. Ed Miliband was in the studio last week, and her constant interrupting and smarminess was embarrassing.

I don't even dare look at the ITV version, although I think Fred from How2 presents it.

Do you watch your local news? Is it genuinely insightful and interesting? Always seems like a massive waste of time to me.

Local news always seems so boring, so I try and avoid it when I can.

No, because both Nick Owen and Bob Warman can strawberry float right off.

Yes, but North West Tonight just isn't the same without Gordon Burns.

True fact I've been on the local news a total of 6 times including the unforgettable time when my foot had a staring role.

To answer the question I probably watch look east or anglia news about once a week.

I get BBC London in my area, which is a little bit annoying as I'm nowhere near London.

Welsh news is frequently embarassing to watch. This is mainly because strawberry float all of interest happens in Wales, so a lot of coverage is made through the most tenuous of links. A Scottish woman getting murdered on holiday in Italy will find its way onto Welsh news because she happened to have studied for a bit in Aberystwyth three years ago, for instance.
