Always wore a poppy up until recent years. Now it's just a symbol of rabbid, rancid nationalism. Can't stand that bloody 'Help for Heroes' nonsense either.

Yes mate, every single person who ever served in the armed forces is a bone fide 'hero' who deserves our undying gratitude... It's lowest common denominator bullshit.

Normally during the minute's silence I'll think about our troops, but this year I'm going to focus on the civilians of Dresden that were subjected to horrific firebombing by the allies. War crimes were committed on both sides, properly shameful stuff.

ALL war is bullshit. The only thing that ever came out of war was more war. Round and round it goes in a cretinously stupid cycle.

Always wear a poppy. In fact I have three pins on my lanyard, two for the battle of Somme and A limited edition one which also comes with a letter of authenticity and a list of those who died.

I'll also wear a normal poppy today and attend two services.

It's not a necessity for everyone to buy or wear a poppy but for myself I work with soliders and service personal and have respect for those who gave their lives

I echo the sentiments of Moggy and SEP. I do not wear a poppy however I do always observe the silence.

My issue with Help for Heroes is that it seems to give the army and the government a bit of a free pass with regards supporting ex-service personnel. We really shouldn't need charities to be filling in gaps in funding or support.

Thats because the armed forces are massively underfunded as such is the NHS. And dont get me started on people on benefits

2 minutes silence well observed in my office, which has a call centre, so lots of people cut off mid-sentence

I strawberry floated up with the silence. Was in Tesco and didn't realise what the time was and was told off by the lady on the checkout when I said hello to her.
