Just beat my first boss. 3rd attempt. Not sure I'll beat the later ones based upon that experience.

Quite like it so far. Playing on Vita works great for me, as couldn't see me playing this on my Pro on a 65" TV now I've played some of it

If you don't have the skills you can just grind to gain levels and beat them that way. I did that on a number of bosses, in all my playthroughs. (I think it's a legit tactic given the fact they're so tough and a complete lack of healing items.)

edit: :x they even deplete your boost/special attack bar when the fight starts!

:fp: I bet not as long as it took me realise you can switch power types (y'know the fan, hammer, sword) on the fly and don't have to go delving into inventory menu.

On PS4 it's done with L1 and R1.

If it isn't done with shoulder buttons on Vita then it may be via the touch pad on the reverse of the console.

Yup. They're my thoughts, screenhots, and clips which I tweeted as I'm playing the game. I don't see it as being any different to linking to your own recorded footage of a game. Plus it saves me time from writing out the same message on GR.

Gave it a bash on Vita last night and bloody hell I could I barely see the wee gems! That was my only gripe but, then, I am still only on the first few floors of the game. (Yet to encounter the trap, even.)

Finished this with Hugo a few days ago (on easy). Largely enjoyed it but grinding was a bit monotonous at times

Have started a new game for Yunica on Normal but not got past first save point on ground floor. Is this going to be a different story worth 12/15 hrs of my time or should I not bother? So many other games to play including FFX/X-2 that is yet to be started

The story doesn't play out like you think! I thought it'd be what Hugo experienced but from Yunica's point of view. It turns out the first 2 are a alternate telling of the story, with the third one being what really happens. Yeah. I know. :fp:

Personally, I think Yunica is worth playing solely for the fact I found her to be much more enjoyable to use than Hugo. The 2nd story and playthrough is different but not massively so (you get a few different bosses, and solutions to some stages). The 3rd playthrough and story on the other hand are very different indeed.

If you've had your fill right now then you've had your fill. But the next time nothing you play is hooking you, start up Origins again and give Yunica a bash.

I loved Ys Origin, I put in 50+ hours on PC version, I've even beaten it on second hardest difficulty (or first, unsure) as Hugo.

Mantis one is really annoying boss yeah x.x
