Last weeks Rosa was fantastic, but you might want to watch the first two episodes of the series first to get to know the characters.

I thought that was pretty terrible. Up there with shite like "Fear Her" and the Slitheen stories. Awful!

This series or in general? If you mean in general, check out Heaven Sent, hands down my favourite episode ever and Capaldi just absolutely nails every single bit of it.

It was a daft old episode that really did deliver on the scares and was a lot of fun. It wasn't perfect the constant references to Trump was just annoying tbh but it certainly feels like the series is improving with each episode.

One question.

The Doctor says I've been a sister in something or other, and my first thought was when, you've always been male until 4 weeks ago.

Cant remember what it was that was said but I've come to the conclusion the Doctor simply talks a lot of BS. Remember she got the sunglasses from Audrey Hepburn despite just getting her coat and not having found the TARDIS yet? Doc trying to impress her new mates.

The more I mull over tonight's the more meh it becomes. I really hope that spider they trapped could feel the vibrations of Ryans music and got out and made it all the way to the panic room because otherwise there is at least one big spider waiting to get out. Given one can smash its way up through a bathtub I think it can get out the flat. Also whats really the point of taking the morale high ground when you just locked them all up in a room to eat each other and then starve to death?

Really disappointed as when I heard about giant spiders being in a story I had ideas where it could go and this just couldn't be arsed. It could have been a decent part 1 to a 2 parter. Such a shame as a few of the character moments were nice. Graham.

I was shocked she didn't say "your pointing a gun at a police officer".

On paper this episode was probably actually fine, the plot made sense and giant spiders are creepy

It ended up being very dumb though and the Trump analogy was about as subtle as being hit in the face with a shovel

Inside Number 9 Live was on tonight and while the audience is clearly different, it made Doctor Who look amateurish in comparison

Also I want to know how the dead neighbour got reported and explained to the police

If only #teamTARDIS had a connection with the police.

Inside No. 9 makes everything look amateurish.

The more I think about it - the less I like it.

What happened to all the Spiders out in Sheffield (like the one trapped next door to parents?)
Why did Niece go into basement? (And her video never became important?)
What happened to science lady?
What happened to Mr Big? No comeuppence?
What happened to all the Spiders in the Panic room?
Yaz, a police woman, gets a gun pointed at her and there's no reaction? She's the worst.

It was all particularly flimsy as a plot - while there weren't any obvious eye roll moments, it was all just a big bobbins.

Graham is still be thing in it

Yep, I didn't realise all gun laws disappeared as soon as someone says they have a bodyguard.

News going round that there's no Doctor Who Christmas Special this year, instead it's on New Years Day

Last years nearly didn't happen. Moffatt didn't want the show to loose the slot and Chibbers didn't want to start at Christmas so the whole of Capaldis final outing with the 1st Doctor was written.

TBH I'd rather a new year one so they dont have to feel like shoehorning in Christmas guff for the sake of it.

I was hoping the spiders would be linked to the old Pertwee episode about spiders... Really all it was was an episode to go oh capitalism is bad people like trump will cut any corner to make money even at the cost of the environment and people, I'm not saying that's not true but the episode was high on soap box low on enjoyment.

The idea there's such a thing as a war on Christmas is bloody laughable.
If there is a war we lost big time and Christmas is doing victory laps.

How much more Christmasy do these people want the country to be as I can assure them from working in retail for years Christmas is already like being shot in the face with a Christmasy shotgun full of glitter and rainbows and if I have to hear more Christmas songs I'm going to go super atheist on everyone and just scream "There is no GOD!" 24/7 for the entire month of December.

The Christmas episodes have always been gooseberry fool. They always resort to shoehorning in daft gooseberry fool like killer Christmas trees or ridiculous looking murderous Santas.

The writing of this series seems really poor. I'm fully behind them putting in modern cultural issues, but they smash it out with a sledge hammer with no subtlety to it and it feels dumb.

Still, they again have brilliantly casted a fantastic lead, hopefully the 13th Doctor will be remembered through the strength of the lead much the same as Matt Smith, rather than weak episodes like this.
