Doctor Who- returns for series whatever it is 11/5/24 | The Grand Moff is back!

I just watched The Tsuranga Conundrum... it's easily my favourite episode of the new series so far. I think that things remain a little "jumpy" in terms of feel - by that, I mean the constant flit between funny and surprisingly meaningful moments - but I enjoyed it. It's a step forward, in my view, and I'm keen to carry on watching.

The episode did stared promising but ultimately ended up like a CBBC version of alien, the Pting was more cute than anything it kinda reminded me of Stitch.
I wasn't that keen on the episode what so ever, less Graham this week which is a shame but he was funny especially during the birth scene.

Next episode does look rather promising and hopefully Yaz will develop a bit more as a character than just being there.

Ok. For me, that was another gooseberry fool "nothing" episode. I'm really not feeling this series of Doctor Who at all. Now that could be down to Chibnalls writing or the fact that that this Doctor really isn't doing anything for me. She mumbles to herself about great people she met, which starts to grate and frankly the spotlight is shining on everyone BUT her. Graham usually steals the show but even the secondary characters like Astos The Main medic and Eve Cicero The pilot were more interesting.
The set design of the ship was dull (ok it's a medical ship so that can be given a pass), but ultimately the story was boring. This is the first time in Who history where I was playing Candy Crush (to get the missus past a level that was irritating her) rather than giving it my full rapt attention.
Best thing about this story is that it ended (ok the speech about the anti matter drive was nice) and I got my wife past the level that she was stuck on for days.
I'm worried for Doctor Who!

The first episode of a new Doctor will always have high viewing figures and further episodes will always see drops in viewers, but on the night viewing isn't the be all and end all as it once was due to the iPlayer bring in people who missed it.

The episode was a bit bad and daft but hey at least it was in space with spacey things. I appreciated the tardis being written around, and I liked the pilot/engineer/robot trio.

Very disappointed with this series so far though, I might stop watching soon

I liked the scene but its timing was terrible. It's the writer admitting (maybe unconsciously so) that the script isn't working.

I hadn't even considered the stupidity of the whole set up at the time. The real villains of the story were the ship designers. Who builds a space ship ambulance that has to travel on a set course? Did Team TARDIS just luck out that it was passing by? Who designs a space ship ambulance with no way of properly communicating with its base? A lot of this could have been sorted if the Pting was an actual hostile intelligent lifeform. That took out systems logically. Or.... they get to the end and are suddenly all charged for their medical treatment and you realise the company in charge has been cutting corners to save money!

They also excrete dark matter and can fly on Scooty Puff Jr's so they are clearly winning the best tiny aliens competition!

The cute destructive monster isn't the most original idea, it reminded me of Stitch and Nibbler, but I still liked it. I don't think the episode was amazing or anything but it was fun and watchable, which is about how I feel about the series as a whole so far. I really like Jodie's Doctor though, maybe I'm biased but I don't care. I think the series can and probably will get better but I'm still enjoying it so far.

i appreciated an episode where the characters were "trapped" in a confined space and none of the characters there were like outright idiots/evil. im still super digging this series. unlike the last few series i dont get angry or annoyed by them. they are really chilled watches. i think they might falter a bit on the excitement factor (i do wonder how i would feel about the episodes if i was younger) but i think theres some really interesting things going on and mix ups

Last weeks Rosa was fantastic, but you might want to watch the first two episodes of the series first to get to know the characters.

Heaven Sent is one of the best bits of Who ever. But it is rather part of an ongoing story. Not to the point you couldn't understand it but you will some context and maybe spoil some stuff if you watch it individually.

Absolutely loved the heart of that story but actually felt the typical Doctor Whoness got in the way. The demon stuff was a bit pants and the Sonic waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay over used.
