I like the guitar stuff, and I think we've had a good variety of locations for some time now. The last series featured Scaro, Gallifrey and a space station along with Earth locations in the past and future. Even those were varied, including an underwater base, a Viking village and a hidden London street populated entirely by aliens. The confession dial in Heaven Sent had to be one of the most imaginative settings the show's ever had too.

I think the balance was just right this season, really.

I'm going to be really disappointed if the rumours of the next series being Capaldi's last are true. I'll be even more disappointed if his successor is another 'wacky off the wall Doctor but with a hint of darkness' like Tennant and Smith were. Capaldi brought a much needed breath of fresh air to the role really, reminding people that The Doctor isn't always a particularly nice person.

Capaldi should stay on for another two series' at least, there's no need for him to bugger off just yet.

I hope he stays as well as I think an older actor fits the role perfectly and he's done a terrific job.

I've not enjoyed Dr Who as much the last two series. I preferred this series over the last one, bbt Capaldi is great, best thing about it. By. Far.

The writer Robert Banks Stewart has died after suffering from cancer at the age of 84.

The man behind two of the most remembered classic Who stories, Terror of the Zygons and The Seeds of Doom. As well as lots of other TV work including creating Bergerac and adapting The Darling Buds of May. Really wish he'd done more Who.

I'll be watching Terror of the Zygons tonight then. :datass:

Has anyone bought The Diary of River Song yet? I love McGann so tempted to check it out but wanted to see what people thought of it.

Loved Doom Coalition 1 and the first War Doctor sets recently, Big Finish really know what they're doing.

Why the hell does Capaldi want to leave?! I mean he has no fear of being typecast (given the fact the show isn't his big break), so what's his reasoning? (If the rumour is genuine.) Ngh! :x

Twats complaining he's not a happy go lucky scamp exactly like David Tennant and Matt Smith.

He's pretty much perfect for the part though and I can't see who people are expecting to do the job any better.

Capaldi is the best thing about Dr Who at the moment, by far too.

I'm sure its a bullshit rumour. But even if he does just 1 more series thats 3 times what Ecclescakes did.

I've finished listening to it this week. Good fun, its a bit like a Sci Fi Indy/Bond crossover.......... possibly. By the end I was left really frustrated that 8 and River couldn't go off together. :(

PostRe: Doctor Who- Pinball Arcade: Doctor Who Kickstarter!

A kickstarter project has been launched to help recreate the 1990's Doctor Who Pinball Table in digital form.

FarSight Studios are looking to add the famous 1992 Doctor Who Pinball Table to their successful Pinball Arcade game for Consoles and Mobile devices.

The independent developer has over 25 years of experience, developing video games on consoles, phones and tablets. For the last ten years, the company has been developing modern videogame recreations of classic pinball tables. The Pinball Arcade is currently available on a wide variety of platforms: the iPhone, iPad, Android, Kindle Fire, Ouya, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Play Station 4, PS Vita and Steam for PC and Mac, with the Nintendo Wii U version being released very soon.

Unfortunately there are several licenses involved: in addition to the Williams license, we need a license for Doctor Who, the actor likenesses of all seven doctors appearing on the backglass and play field, and the right to use the actor voiceovers during gameplay.

As for the reason for holding series 10 until next year, BBC One controller Charlotte Moore said that "I have decided to schedule Steven’s big finale series in Spring 2017 to bring the nation together for what will be a huge event on the channel. 2016 is spoilt with national moments including the Euros and Olympics and I want to hold something big back for 2017 – I promise it will be worth the wait!".

Is Chris Chibnall any good? He's up as the next Doctor Who showrunner.

Did Broadchurch and was showrunner of series 2 of Torchwood. Done a few Who episodes as well.
