I'm really enjoying the episodes when I do watch them, though. Thanks for continuing to organise the shows, TWA :toot: .

Well your the only one to watch The Tenth Planet. So don't feel to bad. Bit surprised that you watched that and didn't want to get stuck straight into the next one tbh.

Sorry Matt have had a mix of problems with my PC and a busy couple of weeks.

I just completed Tenth Planet :toot: started it several times but didn't get to the end of the third episode for one reason or another.

Just watched all four back to back. Was a brilliant serial. Really enjoyed it, started off a little slow but the pace picked up by the end of the first episode :)

It's a shame the last episode is lost but atleast getting the animated episode lets us see the ending. Apart from the dodgy lip sync the animation was really good.

I have moved on to the next serial now as the ending made me want to see where we went next :D

Really enjoying this Matt so appreciate you running Classic Who Club :D

Yeah, The Tenth Planet was cool and that final episode was a bit of surprise in how it was presented... I wasn't expecting that style, but they did a terrific job.

Like you, I'd better get cracking on storyline 5 - The Tomb of the Cybermen!

I had expected it to be presented in that way as I had been having a chat with a friend who is into Classic Dr Who about the lost serials. He mentioned that they had taken that approach with the final episode.

Think it was better that I knew in advance rather than it being a surprise.

I just watched Tomb Of The Cybermen. Really enjoyed it :toot: will post more impressions tomorrow. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts Jawa.

Just watched eight episodes back to back :toot:
Do I start on The Mind Robber or leave it all until tomorrow?

I think I may be hooked :) Matt you have excellent taste

Watched storyline 5, The Tomb of the Cybermen, episode 1.

The opening credits have been updated! A wee bit shorter but still pretty swish.. Oh, and we have a new Doctor... behold Patrick Troughton and we promptly discover that he is four-hundred-and-fifty years old :o.

I had never seen Troughton in the lead role before. I love his "special technique"..."I keep me eyes open and my mouth shut" .

The ending was a wee bit odd... was it a real Cyberman that appeared? Onto the next episode!

Tomb has 3 of my fav Who moments in it. That bit. When he holds Jamies hand by accident and a lovely scene coming up later on.

Watched storyline 5, The Tomb of the Cybermen, episode 2.

Ah! We soon discover that my suspicion was well placed. Additionally, the mysterious "dead" creature seen in the previous episode is identified as a "Cybermat".

The actual awakening of the Cybermen was a little spooky... they looked so odd climbing out of their frozen chamber.

And then the mood was unintentionally lightened by the Cybermat (Cybermouse?). That leap... oh boy  .

All of a sudden, we see the leader of the Cybermen... who says the immortal line "You belong to us. You shall be like us."... a great point to end the episode!

Watched storyline 5, The Tomb of the Cybermen, episode 3.

After the Doctor and (most of...) the team escaped back through the hatch, the Cybermen released a raft of Cybermats... and they're on the attack! . The Doctor then steps up with a "metal breakdown" gag :fp:  .

Things finish up in a darker style with a gunshot ringing out... and the credits roll :o .

Watched storyline 5, The Tomb of the Cybermen, episode 4 - the finale!

Quite a start as we discover that Toberman has now been "repaired" and hear that "promises have no value"... while Kleig comes to the fore as having undesirable plans.

The team need a hero - and Toberman steps up to the plate. An exit is made thanks to this valiant assistant although, as the Doctor says, he "doesn't like to make predictions".

I enjoyed this storyline! The Cybermen were menacing although the Cybermats were a tad humerous :-) .

It's going to be a long wait for the next serial :( hurry up and catch up everyone :D

I have picked up a few of the first Doctor's serials so I think I'll try to watch some of them whilst I wait for the next serial :)

I picked up the Beginnings box set, City Of Death and Pyramids Of Mars a long time ago. I had intended to see some Classic Who but didn't get around to it, so I'm glad you started the club :)

I bought The Keys Of Marinus, The Sensorites and Planet Of Giants a couple of weeks ago. I had enjoyed the serials so far so wanted to pick up a few more.

I have the Tenth Planet on order and my list of serials is growing :) I'm going to order The Mind Robber as I really enjoyed it.

I was going to try and get all of the first Doctors Serials that are available and then see how I feel about the other Doctors based on Classic Who Club :)

Do you have any that you would recommend to prioritise over others or that you wouldn't pick up?

For the First Doctor I'd really recommend The Aztecs, The Rescue & The Romans set and The Space Museum & The Chase set. The first is still quite early on. Rescue and Romans follow Dalek Invasion. The Space Museum and The Chase are just before The Time Meddler. The Chase is a long one to. :toot: The War Machines is good as well.

Cant wait to hear what you think of the Beginnings set.

Hi club members! The new story will be unleashed for you this Friday (if all goes to plan) and its a biggy. So likely hood is I'll have to start removing the older eps from here. You best grab the earliest asap in case they vanish.

Also any progress reports? I know Grum is itching to talk to people about these stories!
