I spent most of it thinking they had been really stupid to put the bloke in a Slayer shirt only to flip all the shots. Then when it unflipped I realised I was the stupid one. :slol: :fp:

THE MACRA TERROR RETURNS
:toot: :toot: :toot:

Dat sound design :datass: :dread: :datass: :dread: :datass:

Originally broadcast in four weekly parts from 11th March to 1st April 1967, and starring Patrick Troughton, Anneke Wills, Michael Craze and Frazer Hines, no full episodes of this serial are known to have survived on film. Fortunately for fans, a complete audio recording of all four parts still exists. Now, 52 years later, the four episodes will be brought back to life through the power of animation in both colour and the original black and fwhite, from 18th March 2019.

Have to admit, Velma looks pretty manly without her glasses.

Wish we could ditch Yaz and keep Graham and Ryan, really like the chemistry between the two in recent episodes.

Slightly earlier time of 6:25pm tonight then.

This is easily the least hyped I've been for a Doctor Who series finale.

also new year's special is said to be titled "resolution" many fans think it'll actually be called "resolution of the daleks" as they are said to be in it

Its going to be about them giving up killing as a new year resolution to fit in with these too PC times.

Also if they are in it I hope to strawberry float they redesign them again. So sick of those bronze ones. :|

i enjoyed that episode not the most spectacular season finale but entertaining none the less

you knew graham wasnt gonna kill tim shaw in the end but still i really liked him and ryan's character development, also loved the references to boom town and stolen earth.

also some traits of the pirate planet in there one of my favourite tom baker stories so kudos to that

the new years special looks good certainly sounds like the daleks

edit: 2020 thats disappointing oh well

I dunno why everyone’s been shitting on this season. I am not a huge Who fan but thoroughly enjoyed this.

Tonights.... Well I wish I could say I liked it. Truth is I just stopped really caring part way through. Perhaps around the 6th time "Stenza tech" was said like it meant something. Think that kind of summed it up to me. It got "dramatic" and the "stakes" got higher but in an increasingly made up on the spot babble-athon. Tim Shaw returning always felt like the obvious thing to me so was hardly a surprise. Why did he even leave the machine he was hooked up to? What was the point of the machine? He just happened to build the Sniper bots from like some other planet somewhere else as well? The planet shrinking stuff is "impossible" says the Doctor... despite it basically been ripped right out of a Tom Baker story written by Douglas flipping Adams of all people. These two have powers! Such powers! POWERS! They can do stuff. Oh lets wear these things on our necks to communicate but then never actually use them apart from to chat to Tim Shaw which could probably have been done in another way. I could probably go on........ I suppose it had a few nice character moments for Ryan and Graham. Yaz giving up her thingy should have been so much more but as ever she was just hanging about a bit and completely wasted.

Anyway! New Years ep-

Assuming its a Dalek then sounds rather like they have taken the "oh noes what happens if it escapes" from Dalek and made that the plot.

I think that show was enjoyable for what is still, at its core, a family entertainment show. Linear, coherent and predictable plot for the adults, fun and exciting for the kids. It hits the mark very well for what it needs to be.

I thought that was bollocks.

Tim Shaw should have been a creepy villain but they might as well have given him a moustache to twirl.

The psychic religious aliens were shite.

Graham not killing Timmy Shaw? Way too obvious and would have been far more interesting if he had killed Mr Shaw in cold blood.

I did like Graham and Ryan’s developing relationship, the fist bump was great.

Yaz has been criminally underused all series, why bother having so many companions if one of them gets ignored for all but one episode?

Overall the series was ok. I like the new Doctor and Rosa was one of the best ever episodes of new Who. But the series was way too patchy and dealt with the space/alien stories poorly. It was at its best when it was small scale in a historic Earth setting.

Well if I'm going to be accurate about this then Jubilee isn't really about the Dalek escaping to take over the world (the story is more to do with recording history) it also takes place in an alternate Earth so :P

Was reading something about the Newset Doctor Who Blu0ray with Davison as the Doctor and he said that he thinks 3 companions are too many. At least one doesn't get enough story stuff. They then killed the 3rd one off in his series, though fans weren't happy and he thought maybe they shouldn't have

He's always said that the TARDIS was too crowded then. Nyssa spends one story asleep. This was back when stories were longer so no wonder Yaz feels wasted.
