Is there any difference from the films to the episodes they are based on, bar the actors?

The basic plots are much the same but the characters are pretty different. The Doctor is actually a human scientist called "Dr. Who." :dread:

Let's hope it's much better than the previous Christmas specials.

The Matt Smith ones were a decent improvement on Tennett's ones but they all are just average.

6.15 pm is not ideal.

My family and I will still be playing drunk Trivial Pursuit.

Hangover Boxing Day viewing it is. :dread:

The doctor waits for nobody.

I'll probably wait until it's on iplayer then download it on my iphone via the iplayer app. It's always too busy on xmas day and people will walk past the tv or block my view until I clip them around the ears and bellow "GET THE strawberry floating OUT OF MY VIEW!"

And sat down, watching the rest in a bad mood.

This year? Nope. Not going to happen. iPhone supremacy.

Sounds a lot like my experiences of watching the Christmas specials. Expect for having to explain what was going on every 5 mins to the point where I no longer could follow. :x

First news of next series is in. Begins filming in January and the first ep is called....... The Magician’s Apprentice.

It'll star Colin Morgan and special guest Alan Sugar.
