HELLO THERE!

Doctor What!? Doctor Who is the worlds longest running science-fiction series produced by the BBC from 1963 to the present day. Centering around the adventures of the Doctor, an alien called a Time Lord. The Doctor explores the universe in a time traveling space ship known as the TARDIS. Standing for "Time and Relative Dimensions in Space." A sentient machine that just so happens to be be stuck in the shape of a blue police box but with a interior space that's infinitely big. As a Time Lord that Doctor has the ability to "cheat death". The Doctor can regenerate their mortally wounded body into a new one causing almost an entirely new person to appear, with different and distinct mannerisms each time. The Doctor will often travel alongside a companion or companions. Together they face up to the wonders and dangers all of time and space has to offer.
Basically...... RUN!

Now beyond the shows 60th Anniversary the role of the Doctor, now in their 15th incarnation, is played by Ncuti Gatwa!

Forthcoming adventures-

The Second Doctor- Patrick Troughton (1966-1969)
I am not a student of human nature. I am a professor of a far wider academy of which human nature is merely a part.

The Third Doctor- Jon Pertwee (1970-1974)
I'll tell you something that should be of vital interest to you. That you, Sir, are a NITWIT!
Courage isn't just a matter of not being frightened, you know. It's being afraid and doing what you have to do anyway.
A straight line may be the shortest distance between two points, but it is by no means the most interesting.

The Fourth Doctor- Tom Baker (1974 - 1981)
Would you like a jelly baby?
There's no point being grown-up if you can't be childish sometimes.
I'm a Time Lord...I'm not a human being; I walk in eternity...

There's always something to look at if you open your eyes!
For some people, small, beautiful events is what life is all about!
You know how it is; you put things off for a day and next thing you know, it's a hundred years later.
There should have been another way.
I'm not going to let you stop me now!

The Sixth Doctor- Colin Baker (1984-1986)
You were expecting someone else?
A little gratitude wouldn't irretrievably damage my ego.
Planets come and go. Stars perish. Matter disperses, coalesces, forms into other patterns, other worlds. Nothing can be eternal.
This is a situation that requires tact and finesse. Fortunately, I am blessed with both.
What's the use of a good quotation if you can't change it?

Every great decision creates ripples. Like a huge boulder dropping in a lake......
UNLIMITED RICE PUDDING!
If we fight like animals, we die like animals!

The Eighth Doctor- Paul McGann (1996)
I can't make your dream come true forever, but I can make it come true today
These shoes! They fit perfectly!

Big Finish are the produces of the Doctor Who audio stories who have been making new Doctor Who stories since 1999! Including the following ranges-

Main Range
The Main Range is a monthly release of stories feature Doctors 5 through 8. Meet companions new and old in these full cast performances which expand on the established events of the classic run. You'll experience the creation of the Cybermen alongside the 5th Doctor, finally hear how the 6th Doctor meets Mel and listen to Doctor number 7 continue his epic battle with Elder Gods. The range is also home to Paul McGanns wonderful 8th Doctor adventures with Charley.
The Forge awaits you.....

Eighth Doctor
The Eighth Doctor teams up with the feisty Lucie Miller brilliantly played Sheridan Smith for a series of adventures before being later joined by Tamsin. With a slightly different format these audio-stories play out closer to the pace of New Who episodes but feature many returning monsters yet to reach the TV screen. Recently the life of the Eight Doctor has change and with it so did the ranges format, now focusing on a series of 4 part stories called Dark Eyes and then Doom Coalition.

Fourth Doctor
After a long wait Tom Baker has finally returned to the role of the Forth Doctor alongside his trusted companions Leela, Romana and the much loved K-9. Bringing with him the trademark wit and wonder that made him the defining image of the original run of Doctor Who.

Lost Stories
Not to be confused with the actual lost missing episodes of Doctor Who. The Lost Stories range is based on various unused scripts and ideas from the classic run, all adapted specially for audio. Featuring all of the first 7 Doctors these are a mix of full cast plays or plays with narration.

Companion Chronicles
Stories told from the perspective of the Doctors various companions over the years. The likes of Katy Manning, William Russell and Frazer Hines reprise their roles to give your Doctor Who through their eyes. Worth it for Frazer Hines's impression of Patrick Troughton alone and trust me, you've not heard anything like the Scorchies!

The Early Adventures
A very new range to Big Finish focusing on the era of black and white.

Destiny of the Doctor
Working alongside AudioGo to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who this is a special series of 11 dramatised readings. Featuring one for each Doctor (at that point :shifty: ) each story attempts to capture the spirit of each era and do they link together? Well that would be telling.....

Spin offs-
Jago and Litefoot
In the 1977 story The Talons of Weng-Chiang, the Forth Doctor and Leela met and befriended Henry Gordon Jago and Professor George Litefoot in Victorian London. These beloved characters return for many mad cap adventures of there own as they investigate the mysteries that come to light, whether they be of the extra terrestrial or the supernatural. Prepare yourself for shenanigans galore in these glorious adventures! CORKS!

Counter-Measures
During 1988's Remembrance of The Daleks the Seventh Doctor and Ace did battle with two warring Dalek factions, caught in the middle was a small group of armed forces commanded by Group Captain Ian "Chunky" Gilmore alongside Professor Rachel Jensen and Allison Williams. Following this event in 1963 they form a top secret group called Counter-Measures tasked with dealing with the unexplained.

Animations-
Doctor Who has a long history of comic strips. Starting back in the 60's in TV Comic! You can learn about this history here. So its no surprise that the show has dipped into the waters of animation. Animation has not only been able to provide fans with an alternative for some missing episodes but has spawned some full stories itself.
Scream of Shalka-
Original developed as a canonical continuation of the classic run, before the new TV series overwrote it, Richard E. Grant stars as the other 9th Doctor.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jV7Vwqy-vb0

Shada-
In 1979 strikes hit production of the show forcing the story "Shada" by Douglas Adams to be shelved. This version, starring the 8th Doctor is based on a adapted version of the original story.

Hello! Welcome to the New Doctor Who thread. :D Kanbei kindly asked me to take over the reigns after doing a great job dangling from a telescope dish for ages. So along I came, all ghostly and stuff and here we are!

The OP still needs work doing to it. But most of it is in place. I've tried to link as much as I can about as much of Doctor Who as is possible. If anyone has ideas feel free to suggest.

Now this is how you do a thread! :o
Just catching up on the last 4 episodes of Doctor Who as I was on holiday for a bit. Just finished watching "flatline."
Apart from the sudden conclusion to the threat that was a wonderful episode. Really dark too. Loved it!

That finale :|

There's never any genuine perril because you know it will all get resolved with dat power of love in the same episode. Would it hurt for something to genuinely devastate a story and not just be undone with a lol I love u hun ?

I expect it will turn out that she teleported away and wasn't actually vaporised.

Or somebody loved her so much that all her atoms spontaneously reassembled.

Fairly certain that the animation used was the same one that showed when she teleported before. I don't understand why the Master would sit there and leave himself open to dying, she's not as dumb as John Simms Master was. Also I think when the Cybermen shoot someone they fall to the floor dead rather than being vaporized like the daleks laser.

I thought when she teleported before she fiddled while the bracelet that she gave to the Doctor? If she did, then she didn't have the bracelet to teleport.

+1 for teleport.

At best it's ambiguous... they'd be mad not to get Gomez back for it though as she was fantastic.

If any Time Lord can switch gender during regeneration, does that mean they're all inherently bi?

I bet there's a fan in some dark corner of Reddit who wants to boycott the series because of this
