Kris Marshall was made to be Doctor Who, he'll be absolutely great.

Brian May should be the next Doctor. Get those guitar solos a-rockin'.

Depends, Capaldi would be awesome too if the stories weren't a heap of gooseberry fool. Since the end of the Tennent episodes the stories have been piss weak and getting worse. There have been obsessions with gooseberry fool characters like River strawberry floating song and Clara. As well as over usage of Darleks, "hmmm not sure whatto do for this one, thing of something new .... naaa strawberry float it "And then the Darleks came""

I'm pretty sure that last one was a trip into the Time War not just Darleks which unless something happened in a series I didn't pay much attention to for being gooseberry fool they sholuldn't be able to do as it was time locked, which is even more bloody lazy as it means they are ignoring and forgetting stuff that was important in their story.

Wonder if the guitar gimmick was Capaldi's idea or not. It's awful :dread:

Just started the new episode. Did Bill just fatshame the girl in the canteen? "Beauty or chips"

I agree. It's bloody stupid and like he's having some kind of midlife crisis.
Still, it's not as bad as pulling the entire earth to another part of the universe with the tardis I suppose.

If I were on my "last" life and felt like I was living on borrowed time, I'd have a midlife crisis the likes of which the universe has never seen, and will never see again.

So basically playing rock guitar on a tank in 1138?

But playing a guitar.
He may as well have decided to start doing random old man dancing just to top it all off or start just giving up completely and become Dr Who the time travelling hobo who just doesn't give a gooseberry fool any more and just strawberry floats with time for the lols.

Probably doesn't bode well for ratings that no one's said anything

Literal reset button aside, that was fairly "basic" Who. Felt like a filler 9 or 10 episode. Imagine it'll be popular with kiddies, but isn't going to appear on anyone's Top episode lists.

I thought it was a decent episode. Cool concept and I'm certain I've seen it elsewhere before, but that doesn't really matter.

I did like how the first thing future humans did when they felt under threat against literally billions of microbots was get their guns which wouldn't have ever helped them.

I've been really busy this weekend. :x

It was a decent ep again. Liked the look and feel of the city. Going with just Bill and the Doctor for most of the ep was brave but worked really well. I enjoyed them investigating and discovering the place rather then just walking into an event. The emojibots had this nice perverse element to the story. The city being made out of bots was a cool idea they could have pushed more. Like having it reconfigure itself around them.

For proper Who nerds it was the Ark in Space meets The Happiness Patrol.

The big plus point is that it was much better then Forest of the Night.

I liked it until the last ten minutes. It moved along at a decent pace, I liked the visual aesthetic and there was good chemistry between the two of them.

The ending was terrible though. I thought the robot getting murdered would have helped them register grief and maybe realise what they were doing (especially as the whole episode was about the robots adapting to emotion and learning), but no, literal reset button.

Also, I didn't want the last series, so are we supposed to know what is in the vault or what the Doctor's promise to stay on earth is all about? I am guessing the former is this season's arc but not sure about the latter.

Also is the last season worth bothering with?

I've got Netflix and fancy watching some "older" episodes - might go back and watch Eccleston's stuff or some of Tennant's, which I've already seen. I didn't watch half of Matt Smith's Season 6 (when it all got too convoluted and River Song-heavy) or the last full season bar the two Davos episodes.
