Theorizing

Simm is going to be in Missy's head isn't he? Trying to tempt her back to old ways...

Or they'll present it like that for the entire episode (likely in scenes just between Missy/Simm) but then the shock ending is he's really been there!

Up to end of season 3 TWA. They're not very subtly taking on Scientology are they?

Aunty Pat is brutally murdered by having her throat ripped out ("on camera"), and is then replaced by her Zygon lover for the rest of time, not telling anyone including Lucie?

Not just that but it was "Lucie" that did it. I'd forgotten just how funny some of that story is. Some of the sound effects to

Yeah it varies between "fish out of water" funny and then HORRENDOUSLY GRAPHIC MURDER

Stiil rather enjoying these are odd "monster of the week" style stories, and so far there's been basically no "I am the Doctor. I'm the ongoing Storm" posturing to aliens. Most seem rather non-plussed by the Doc.

Only just got to the Zygon one. Its not easy trying to invade the world one fridge at a time. All I really remember of the end of 3 was theMetebelis Spiders being involved. What did you think of Hothouse and Wirrn Dawn btw? They have two of my most wanted monsters I want to see come back in the tv series.

Thought on upcoming ep
Could be. That would make some sense. The flirting with him/herself would fit that. But the ep is set on a ship stuck next to a black hole. So he could come back from wherever he went after The End of Time via the black hole.

Reckon the Cybermen part is going to be that in the part of the ship where time is different the crew have to become Cybermen to survive. Perhaps the ship was originally from Mondas. So its going to be an additional origin story. Please Hexx. Take a break from the 8th Doctor stories now you are inbetween seasons 3 and 4 to give Spare Parts a listen.

Response to your audio questions

I didn't recall either of the enemies from before.

Hothouse - was ok. Bit on the nose satire. They never really explained why the germination event would be immediately game over, but it didn't overly matter. A lot of "audio issues" with people exlpaining what they saw in each lab.

Wirrn - was ok. A nice story that the doctor can't (won't?) solve everything and save everyone. Bit obvious with "The Admiral is injured" and "The Wirrn lay eggs their prey. Just thought you might want to know" and they teased it a bit too long. One of the more interesting looks at 8 with the ending and him being ok with the "natural" ending, even with deaths. He didn't even try to save the Admiral, and didn't seem overly sad she'd died - this was just the way it needed to be.

Yeah those Spiders have turned up - still got about 15 minutes left, no idea how it's going to wrap up.

Already got season 4 loaded up and will need some in the car later and in pub waiting for board games - so no. Will likely be through them quickly though, and will do Spare Parts before Dark Eyes.

Or do you want it done before the weekend? What's in it for me? :P

Ridley Scott was working at the BBC when Ark In Space was made. A few years later he made Alien. GO FIGURE.

As for Spare Parts. Doesn't matter either way just its brilliant. Everyone really should hear it. I'd say its the Genesis of the Daleks for the Cybermen but you probably haven't seen that either.

So mean and angry :(

I meant I didn't have strong/recollections or feelings on them. I've remember I've seen them/they exist

Finished S3 over lunch and started S4.

Was that it for the Headhunter? Expect more on here as there seemed a lot more to say.

Moved onto S4 (sorry TWA! but it was already loaded). The weirdness of Aunty Pat better be mentioned!

The tools they used "poisoned" the light.

I loved that episode. Really fun! Next episode is going to be great.

Ohh sorry didn't catch them explaining that. It was still good though yeah.

Just started watching Series 10; I'm half-way through "The Pilot" opening episode. Billie has been introduced. How come Matt Lucas is travelling with the Doctor? I know he was in the Chrismas Special? Any way, it seems cool so far.

Yeah but also horrid racist Lucie Miller being really mean to him

Up to 1/2 way through Earthly Child (had to get to work and out the car)

Death in Blackpool was lovely little story - liking they're more willing to do smaller intimate stories. Only 2 people were ever in much danger here not "THE WORLD IS IN DANGER...

Which brings is to AEC. "Oh wait a nice play on the title...wait a minute...are they? ARE THEY!?!?!Image

Did you not watch the XMAS special? Him being about is explained later on.

I did watch it but I must have completely forgotten the storyline :fp: . I remember him being consumed by some monster... and then he was talking through it...

Anyhow, The Pilot was cool - a great way to kick off the new series and I enjoyed the introduction of Bill.

Honestly I really love Matt Lucas and Bill together as companions. They're 100x better than Amy and Rory ever were and Martha and Rose were gooseberry fool.

The best companions without a doubt in new Who. Donna and Wilf are a close second.
