The two Doctors played off each other so, so well. It's almost a shame we only got an hour of it. It was a really nice regeneration episode. Nothing over the top, just a nice, feel good story.

I enjoyed that, a nice episode and the first Doctor was hilarious.

Typical that the first female Doctor immediately crashes the vehicle though.... ;)

I loved that. The first doctor was really well portrayed.

Hope with Jodie they’ll get rid of the “I just want to die please stop making me regenerate I’ve had just about enough of this” mentality. If they’ve announced the next doctor it doesn’t exactly have any sort of impact :shifty:

Decent episode, though. Clara :x

Why always spectacularly destructive flame-regenerate in the TARDIS and cause it to crash? Enjoyed the Smith/Capaldi for being different

Capaldi would have been better with better worries but moffat was a hopeless arse so just needed it, matt smith was just annoying throughout with odd breif moments of not gooseberry fool.

Please please please be good from now on!

Say what you want about Moffat, but even at his worst he was better than Russell T Davies best.

Yeah. I liked that it was just a simple character driven story. All the explosive stuff happened at the end of last season. In a way you could tell it wasn't planned to have a Christmas special. But Chibnall didn't want to start with one. That said I would have liked them to have done a little more with Planet of the Rusty. Nice to finally follow that up mind.

Quite amazing to think that TV from 51 years ago would appear on prime time BBC1 Christmas day. Magical.

He did a good job but just lacked that sparkle Hartnell had (no ones managed that tbf) and at times was a bit too much of a caricature of him. Which in fairness given that its a one off worked well.

Excuse to redecorate. Hope its something more charming then the current interior. Lacks the serene nature of the original (which looked glorious last night) and the distinctiveness of the choral/junkyard surreal explosion ones.

There were some crud moments, but the odd moment is ok when everything else is good, the last few seasons have been crap moment leading into the next crap moment interspersed with Clara strawberry floating Oswald.

I kind of wish they’d do the regeneration at the end of a series again, just so you get a bit more time with the new doctor before having to wait another few months to see them again. Or maybe have them regenerate halfway through the special, or something. Shake things up a little.

I agree the first Tennant chrimbo special was epic and it gave a really "finding their new character" thing which is good as means it doesn't need to take up time in the series or happen outside of the series.
