Centering around the adventures of the Doctor, an alien called a Time Lord. The Doctor explores the universe in a time traveling space ship known as the TARDIS. The original, you might say. https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episodes/ ... o-19631996
The First Doctor- William Hartnell (1963-66)
Have you ever thought what it's like to be wanderers in the Fourth Dimension? Have you? To be exiles?
The Second Doctor- Patrick Troughton (1966-1969)
I am not a student of human nature. I am a professor of a far wider academy of which human nature is merely a part.
The Third Doctor- Jon Pertwee (1970-1974)
I'll tell you something that should be of vital interest to you. That you, Sir, are a NITWIT!
Courage isn't just a matter of not being frightened, you know. It's being afraid and doing what you have to do anyway.
A straight line may be the shortest distance between two points, but it is by no means the most interesting.
The Fourth Doctor- Tom Baker (1974 - 1981)
Would you like a jelly baby?
There's no point being grown-up if you can't be childish sometimes.
I'm a Time Lord...I'm not a human being; I walk in eternity...
The Fifth Doctor- Peter Davison (1982-1984)
There's always something to look at if you open your eyes!
For some people, small, beautiful events is what life is all about!
You know how it is; you put things off for a day and next thing you know, it's a hundred years later.
There should have been another way.
I'm not going to let you stop me now!
The Sixth Doctor- Colin Baker (1984-1986)
You were expecting someone else?
A little gratitude wouldn't irretrievably damage my ego.
Planets come and go. Stars perish. Matter disperses, coalesces, forms into other patterns, other worlds. Nothing can be eternal.
This is a situation that requires tact and finesse. Fortunately, I am blessed with both.
What's the use of a good quotation if you can't change it?
The Seventh Doctor- Sylvester McCoy (1987-1989)
Love has never been noted for its rationality.
Think about the homeless traveller and his old police box, with his days like crazy paving.
Every great decision creates ripples. Like a huge boulder dropping in a lake......
UNLIMITED RICE PUDDING!
If we fight like animals, we die like animals!
The Eighth Doctor- Paul McGann (1996)
I can't make your dream come true forever, but I can make it come true today
These shoes! They fit perfectly!

Following this event in 1963 they form a top secret group called Counter-Measures tasked with dealing with the unexplained.

Doctor Who has a long history of comic strips. Starting back in the 60's in TV Comic! You can learn about this history here. So its no surprise that the show has dipped into the waters of animation. Animation has not only been able to provide fans with an alternative for some missing episodes but has spawned some full stories itself.
