Really enjoyed tonight's episode, and have to say that for me this has been the most consistently good start to a series for a long time.

I'm not a fully paid up member of the "everything's been gooseberry fool since Moffat took over" brigade as many fans seem to be, in fact I think that S5 is easily the best since the show came back, but even as something of a Moffat-apologist I have to admit that the show has struggled with consistency during recent years. It's good to see that this most recent series seems to be delivering a solid episode each week, now we just need the odd episode to really excel and this series will be one to remember!

I always find it ironic that many fans online hate on Moffat yet for me he was the one that dragged the RTD era up to its highest level with his contributions being by far the strongest episodes from those early seasons, take them away and you're not left with much beyond with fart monsters and the weekly David Tennant gurning competition!

I really enjoyed that episode. I thought the end was somewhat bittersweet and overall it was damned good.

Torchwood is back for a brand new series with Torchwood: Aliens Among Us...

As exclusively revealed at today's DWAS Capitol II convention (also running tomorrow), Big Finish are happy to announce that Torchwood is back for a brand new series with Torchwood: Aliens Among Us.

Following the events of Miracle Day, the Torchwood team is reunited, and Captain Jack, Gwen and Rhys are joined by new characters co-created and overseen by Russell T Davies.

It's just such a good series in my view, I don't think there's a particularly weak episode and there are some proper belters in there as well. If I've got 45 mins spare and fancy watching a cheeky episode of Doctor Who then it's usually one from S5 that I plump for.

I couldn't do that without wanting to watch it all. It just fits together so well. Think when this series is done I might rewatch all new Who to build up to the regen.

I'm heading towards the end of Series 9; I watched the "Heaven Sent" episode earlier this evening and so I just have "Hell Bent" and then the grand finale to watch. It was a great episode - just the Doctor for most of the show but the story was really intriguing.

I'm trying to catch up so that I can start watching the Series 10 episodes that I have been recording :toot: .

You're very confused about the episodes if you've got the final episode to go

Hell Bent was the last one? :S

Uhm... I'm not sure - on the box set, the final episode is "The Husbands of River Song".

Ah! Okay, so I watch "Husbands of River Song" and then the Special that was on last Christmas? I think I still have that on the recorder.

True, it is a really nicely constructed series. I'm a huge fan of The Eleventh Hour so that's a common watch - the pull to then watch the rest of the series is indeed strong!

Both good episodes, obviously you'll get more enjoyment out of HoRS depending on your views of River but it should be a decent knockabout either way. I've got a real soft spot for last years Christmas special as well - was a thoroughly enjoyable romp!

I've just finished watching "Husbands of River Song". At the start I wasn't sure about it and I was thinking it was a little below average... but then it roared back and I hugely enjoyed the second half. That emotion at the end... I think I had something in my eye... :shifty: .

So, now I just have the last Christmas episode to watch and I'm gonna check it is still on the recorder. After that... onto Series 10!
