Really nice episode I thought.

Shame to see Capaldi go. Could have been an amazing Doctor, but let down by some awful storylines and Cunty Oswald.

My first thought after new Doctor pushes that button in the Tardis...

Looking forward to seeing how she gets on though. Hopefully she gets decent stories and writing.

Only one that deserves to be called that over the last few years is the Doctor himself. Specially in series 8.

Re-watching it, hasn't Doctor Who generally established that there is something akin to a soul? That a person is made up of more than just thoughts and memories and that there is something 'special' to sentient life?
Duplicate Bill's assertion that she is Bill simply by virtue of being made up of all of Bill's memories is absolute bull.

Sounds like someone is worried about a duplicate Lagamorph turning up and claiming to be the real thing. To be fair I'd be worried about that. One Lagamorph is enough thanks.

The ending made me wonder will the next series be entirely Earth-based, like the Pertwee years?

I quite liked that, possibly my favourite episode of this show ever (both old and new). I liked the jabs it took at the old era and the modern

It would be quite cool to have that.

Seen quite a few comments on twitter of people complaining that it portrayed Hartnells time in a bad light. Saying it simplified it and him into a sexist twat.

The one thing it lacked for me was a bit of an awareness of what 12 use to be like early on. How harsh he was and how he grew because of the people he was with. It was all "be kind and love is wonderful" but he wasn't at all like that for his first series. Just needed a slight adjustment then it could have really sold the idea of him reminding himself not to go backwards in his new self.

Think I'm going to do a picture for this story.

Oh good I haven't spent £10 on postage this week. Let me know when it's available.

(Seriously though any Who fan should check out TWA's clock. It looks amazing. And when the one I've bought is delivered, presumably on a golden throne by a choir of angels, it'll look amazing on my landing wall

I think it was aimed at that period in time rather than specifically Hartnell. And probably a bit of a dig/ towards people making comments towards any Woman who happens to become the title character. Highlighting how society has changed slightly in those 50+ years since the show started.

Yeah I agree, I didn't really have a problem with it. In fact it was fun. I've always liked it when the Doctor gets embarrassed. River was so good at that.

Also thanks Hexxy.

I'd thought I had seen all of series 10, Garth - I'm sure I did - but I never remember the storylines :fp: ... I guess I'll need to watch that ending again?
