Weddings?

Well, being a guest at them anyway.

The only good thing about them is the reception, and the chance wit several drunk chicks afterwards.

Discuss.

Weddings are great. I'm good friends with my brother so it's never boring. We just go about scrounging food and drink of people.

Only ever been to family weddings. Kinda reduces the 'drunk chick' situation.

I've only been to one bad wedding, where the religious nutcase part of the family were marrying off one of my second cousins. The ceremony was in a massive church and included shite like "the woman will be the rock for the man" and so on, which didn't sit very well with the rest of my family.

But my cousin's wedding was awesome - in a canal museum, with star trek wedding vows and tattoos instead of rings. Loadsa fun. And my ex's dad's wedding was pretty neat too, very scottish with vats of free booze and cigars.

The whole concept of marriage seems a little outdated as it is, it's not exactly necessary for a couple to live together or commit their lives to one another. But weddings can be fun I guess.

I've only ever been invited to family weddings and I've managed to weasel my way out of each and every one of them. Not that I dislike my family, but I have more interesting things to do and they wouldn't miss me.

I've been to one family wedding and it was gooseberry fool, they're all boring and I didn't really have anything to say to them, but i've been to some really nice weddings in India, it's alot more colourfull and interesting to be around, I also went to one at a Buddhist monostry in this country and it was amazing, nice little trees and water features, and some mental tabla player was there rincing it.

I've been to two weddings and they were boring. I was only young though so maybe they're actually fun.

That's about the same story as me. The reception was super boring, but I was only about 12. I'm guessing they get alot more fun when you're able to either drink yourself silly or find some good looking members of the opposing family.

The only wedding I've been to was my cousin's and I was bored. Out. Of. My. Mind.

I took to going for little walks in the dark around the grounds of the hotel where the reception was held. Found a load of cages housing relatively exotic birds! Was not expecting that. This only entertained me for about five minutes though. Then it was back to watching paint dry.

How so? ....... ;)

I've been to some decent weddings, some fairly crappy. I've got my brothers wedding coming up and I'm best man, which means I have all the best man duties :(

I'm currently working as a barman at a function suite where they have weddings every weekend. Not too fond of them at the moment.

I've only been to one family wedding, and it was boring as hell. I kept fidgeting about during the service, stupid uncomfortable church seats. The bride was hot though, and beyond cousin family-wise so it was okay to have a little fantasize.

Only been to one that I can remember, and it was only a few weeks ago. It was my girlfriend's cousin and was the first time I'd met the extended family. I played it very safe, for instance the question "What're you drinking, son?" was met with " A lager" rather than 'Ooh, that cheeky little Pinot Noir I saw on the wine list" and did the dedicated boyfriend bit. Couldn't really get very drunk, but it was an alright event. Scored inadvertant brownie points with Mrs Skarjo as her sister's boyfriend refused the invite.

Same here. I worked at 4 weddings this week, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. I Quite like them though, lots of nice girls. They make me wander around the dance hall collecting glasses. 8-)

A lot?

They're not that bad, but I just tend to associate them with working at the moment which is probably quite sad on my part as I'm only working there weekends through August.

It'd be great if weddings were exactly like they are in Wedding Crashers.
