. Yeah, the 32X version was decent - some levels were indeed missing, but it was probably the best available non-PC version at the time. Also, I agree - the GBA version(s) were really cool if a tad pixelly!
Unbelievably, I've never played Doom online (or local link)... a travesty when the game was built around that! I'm surprised that none of the GRcade PC crew have commented yet... maybe I'm showing my age. I've read stories of folk who were seriously into multiplayer Doom... *really* into it. Some fans still design additional levels for the game today - through the infamous ".wad" files, I believe. The DoomWorld website is a great Doom resource and contains some neat historical info too.
I'm more of a casual console player but, even so, I have a huge respect for the game.
