Yeah, there is no doubt that game install sizes are now getting pretty tough to manage, dude! I'm fortunate to have an external hard drive connected and that helps to make things way easier to juggle.

I suspect nobody bought the multiplayer stuff so conbining this announcement with a sale is a good revenue spinner.

Impressive considering it's (along with Wolfenstein II) running on the modern idTech 6 engine.

Even more impressive when you factor in that Switch is a hybrid where as Wii and Wii U were dedicated consoles and didn't get support for the latest engines at the time.

I'm impressed, looking at the full size images the colours don't look quite as nice in the Switch version but still darn. I'd hit that.

With the exceptions of the GBA ports of Doom and Doom II, I believe this is the first time Doom has came to a main Nintendo console since Doom 64.

It's about time. :D

Physical cartridge will contain the single player campaign only, with multiplayer available as a free download. Not clear if that download is optional or not though.

Makes sense, in fact this makes sense for all games.

I'm usually opposed to things like day 1 DLC and patches, but for online only multiplayer modes it's pointless putting them on physical media as it's useless once servers close.

They should have done this on the other versions too. Being forced to download a 30GB+ that largely consisted of multiplayer stuff was ridiculous.
