Haha, I was thinking of that, Devlin! I wonder if the 3D nature of the game and the size of the levels would make the building process a wee bit more time-consuming, though. Even so, that could be incredible.

It would be amazing if they could mod it so that we can have D&D tile sets as this could become pretty much the ultimate D&D map building tool.

In a perfect world 'B' would be regular cover and 'A' would be reverse. I swear, I wouldn't be surprised if they went with original cover choice just to build more awareness/free publicity by means of controversy.

I agree, Saint - the actual cover is remarkably rubbish and it was a slight factor in me electing to go digital for this game. Err, which is probably what they wanted :shifty: .

We're only just over two months away and I'm pretty excited about this. I hope that there are various skill levels in line with the original games... I'm a bit ropey at FPS games but I like playing them.

This looks like being pretty fun, with plenty of over-the-top action! I'm panicking a bit about the sheer speed of the game, though - does anyone know if there will be a 'bot' mode as with CoD? I'd like to play this but I can imagine dying every 2.3 seconds.

Old SKOOL.

Love the old speedy feel of it all, can see this one having legs.

It doesn't seem to long ago that everyone was saying it looked too slow.

Very much a Quake MP vibe from that trailer. Looks good.

It still looks pretty slow compared to "old school" arena FPSes. It might not be Battlefield-tier plodding but it's not UT2K4 either.

We want players to wonder how DOOM and idTech 6 games can be so visually stunning at 60 frames-per-second at 1080p on all platforms, when other titles cannot even achieve a similar look at 30 frames-per-second. Our goal is to be the best-looking game at 1080p at 60fps.

I'm still waiting to see any evidence of any of that. Has anyone? If you have can you direct me to a HD YT video that clearly shows what this Bethesda person is going on about? All the footage I've seen of the game so far left me feeling distinctly underwhelmed.

Also, I'm still waiting for my Doom4 Beta. :|

Hopefully Bethesda as a whole move over to id Tech 6 because that Oblivion engine is ancient now and Fallout 4 looked bloody awful.

Also looking forward to Source 2, the Portal VR demo looks gorgeous running on it.

Hmmn... that new multi-player modes vid is, for me, disappointing. The environments and characters don't look as interesting or as detailed as those in the earlier single-player trailer.

I was keeping an eye on this but I think it will slip into the "wait for reviews and a price reduction" pot as it hasn't grabbed my imagination.

Nah! You're wrong Brer. That was the Doom Alpha. The Beta (for those that bought Wolfenstein) begins on March 31st - April 3rd.

It's probably just to further raise awareness about the game, like the recent Hitman "beta".
