 . I'm genuinely surprised, still... what didn't you like about him?

I've just watched the whole vid and really enjoyed it; it was great to take a look at each version and learn about some of the tech challenges that were faced. The presentation has made me want to go back and replay a few of these conversions.

Oh, and I had never heard this before - Doom music on a dot matrix printer. Just incredible!

I think it was the silly little button beard!! Way too geeky for me...

That dot matrix printer thing is amazing though! Well found.

I like Linneman, too. Very knowledgeable and no annoying presenting habits. And you have to give any YT video which doesn't use jump cuts every other second a watch.

S: Neither was the last one. It was a robbery. M: Really? S: Yeah. She stole my heart. And my crown. (❍ᴥ❍ʋ)

Yeah he makes some of my favourite youtube content, goes in depth on technical qualities in games in a fascinating and approachable way. Loved this Doom video as I've done all his other DF Retro works.

He posts on GAF quite a lot and is receptive to feedback if that's anything, though understandably the poor guy gets frustrated with the awful comments Digital Foundry videos generally get. It's such an odd discrepancy of terrific videos + horrendous comments sections :/

Doom on PS1 was the best version I played, Doom 64 was impressive at the time.

The video is excellent, DF Retro really is incredible, the Half-Life 2 was also brilliant.

I'd love DigitalFoundry to cover the Virtua Fighter series, each of the original 3 games were THE most technically advanced games when they came out in the arcades.

Digital Foundry Switch analysis

Impressive, I really didn't think Switch was capable of graphics of that level.

Didn't really expect it to be 60fps.

I'm conflicted.

+ Doom! On Switch! Totally yay!
- I have it on PS4
- So it'd be silly to buy it for, say, £45 on Switch... alongside some micro SD storage space
+ But it's Doom. It's essential!

ULTIMATE DREAM THAT WON'T HAPPEN: The Switch version includes pixel-perfect ports of the original Doom and Doom II.

Listed as £49.99 on Amazon. That's a lot for a hugely downgraded version with features/modes missing.
