I never really used the Super Shotgun that much. But every other weapon beyond that? Hell yeah. My fallback weapon was the laser rifle that builds charge up from firing it, and you can unleash the area explosion when it hits maximum power. Loved triggering that.

I rotated weapons depending on the enemy, the area, and also just what I felt like using. Most of them are loads of fun to use.

The only one I never really used was the pistol. Still, once the Gauss cannon is upgraded it feels like cheating.

I never opted to upgrade it as I assumed it was just weak. Obviously not.

To clarify I’m not VERY far in, maybe 3hrs worth and I don’t really like raging guitar music.

My taste in music tends towards the Angus and Julia Stone/Father John Misty end of the wanky indie rock scale and even I loved the music in this. It's perfect.

As an aside I think Battlefield 1 has the best music this gen (that I’ve heard)

EDIT: I'd had the DOOM soundtrack down as a universal truth. Like, if there was a new version of Baz Luhrman's Sunscreen it would be mentioned as an accepted fact. "And remember, the DOOM reboot is worth it for the soundtrack alone."

But no. Xbox McBattlefield over here has to ruin it for all of us.

The music just *makes sense* when you're immersed in the whole butchering of demons bit. It just does. Took me a few levels to get there, mind.
