I'm still surprised that steam can't offer customisable downloads. For example a large amount of extra space must be taken up by things like ultra resolution textures, if I know my system can't handle these then why not let me download the game without them?

Got this for Christmas on PS4. 30GB update and had to delete three other game installs so I could fit on even though I had more than the required space left :simper:

And most of that patch will be multiplayer content for DLC you don't even own ;)

My one main criticism with Doom is that once I got the super shotgun I basically didn't use any other weapon.

How the strawberry float? I used to run out of ammo with that thing so quickly. I literally had to use every weapon most of the time.

Cos there is a perk that allows you to collect ammos from enemies automatically so it's plenty in your inventory. It was the reason why I never used other weapons much. Super Shotgun mainly all the way except for the bosses.

Done the first few levels this afternoon. Pretty good so far but I was expecting it to be better after the way people have been raving about it. Is it just a slow starter like Wolfenstein?

That and I took all my upgrades in increasing ammo capacity.

Yeah, I did this as well.

Anyway, it's a fantastic game and I hope they will make a sequel.

Was waiting for this to go below £10 on PC but now £11.95 on PS4 from Games Collection -> http://www.thegamecollection.net/doom-ps4/

Finally caved and have some resale value once finished.

Yes?

It's interesting to see what weapons different people use.

My most used was by far the regular shotgun with the explosive shot attachment.

Then the plasma rifle (almost exclusively for the stun grenade)

And then the rocket launcher/Gauss rifle for burst damage.

I've just picked up the super shot gun. Didn't really strike me as being the best gun to use from now on.

I've been using the regular shot gun a lot, particularly on the weaker enemies were it's only a couple of shots then you can glory kill.

For the more difficulty enemies I shoot from a distance, depending on how much ammo I've got, I've been using either the Assault Rifle with the mini-missile mod or the plasma with the energy burst mod.

The regular shotgun's explosive shot does a deceptive amount of damage. For example those monstera that charge you and make you shoot them in the back? One hits them

Plus it's just really versatile since it gives you a long range option.

I often just switched to the rocket launcher while the explosive shot was on cooldown and when I swapped back to the shotgun I could fire off another explosive shot.
