When you try to log into Club Nintendo, you should see a message like this:

Image

I tried to log in with my NNID but I got a message like this;

Image

I was redirected to the page below and linked my NNID by signing in on the next page.

Image

You should eventually see a message saying that your account have been linked and that you'll get 750 stars in the next 24 hours.

Image

According to NeoGaf, this change lets you log into Club Nintendo with your NNID. Previously, your accounts were linked in a way but you always had to use your Club Nintendo ID on the Nintendo web site.

Club Nintendo rewards:
Nintendo has sent out a newsletter that has some cool future rewards. I'm definitely going after the Captain Toad Figurine Lamp and, if I have enough starts, the Luigi Diorama.

Majora's Mask Light (6000 stars)
The time has come…
With glowing eyes, this spooky Majora’s Mask emits a soft, orange glow when you flick the switch. Measures approximately 12cm tall x 12cm wide, made of ABS, transparent ABS and PVC.

Nintendo has updated the Stars Catalogue with new rewards. I'm working on writing them all out now.

Well i've got 3850 stars, time to have a looksie.

Glad I'm not after Advance Wars, costs 3900, man I'd be pissed.

Some free to play games, like Zen Pinball on Wii U and Ironfall on 3DS, give you 50 stars if you download them and fill out the survey in your Club Nintendo account.

I think that I've put all the available games into the OP now. I'm tempted by some but I'm probably going to wait to see if some more tangible goods pop up. Hopefully the Luigi's Mansion diorama returns.

I don't think I have registered Stars for a long time - since I had to do it to get the free Animal Crossing download in 2013 maybe? I think I bought my Wii in early 2014 so that means all those stars will be lost, as I can't get to the games and console boxes to rifle them out.

For the tat usually in the catalogue I didn't mind letting them expire, but now I want to stock up on free games.

When do you have to register them by? I might see if I can get my family to send me the slips over here in their next parcel.

I'll probaby get NES Remix and then whatever else on a whim, as it's the only thing I can afford that I can't emulate elsewhere.

This is a great way to use up Stars - I'm under the impression Club Nintendo shuts down soon.

I have 2250 stars, and I'm definitely getting Link's Awakening DX (as I've never played the DX version before!).

That leaves me with 650 stars. I doubt it really matters, but should I be getting Aura-Aura Climber or Paper Plane? They both look like non-games but I figure I may as well use the stars up now, and I figured maybe Jawafour (hi!) might have an opinion. ;)

You have to redeem them by 31st March.

How many stars would I get for six Wii U games and a Wii U console?

The redemption process is so tedious, but I should bite the bullet.

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

I think it's like 250 per game for a full time title.

Guess I'll work my way through these 11,500 stars I've been saving.

Mario Kart 8: Add-on Content Pack 1: The Legend of Zelda x Mario Kart 8 (Wii U) - 2100 stars
NES Remix (Wii U) - 2300 stars
Pullblox World (Wii U) - 5600 stars
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (Wii U) - 1300 stars

These'll do it.

Thanks for the info guys, I've probably got a few 3DS games I haven't registered too.

Free games are more of a motivation than some plastic tat.

Damn, I didn't 4k on those Mario Kart badges last month. Got a few cards to use though so might have enough for 1 3DS game.

They've taken it "offline for maintenance" now.

I guess I'll log in at about midnight once the kids have gone to bed.

(Typing that makes me feel so old...)
