A friend has been hyping this game up for weeks but i've only recently taken notice myself. It's from the producer and director of Resident Evil 4 and Devil May Cry 4 and looks like a cross between Demon Souls and Skyrim. It certainly looks like it might be worth keeping an eye on it anyway. I searched for a thread and didn't find one so I thought I'd spread the word. It's set for release this May on PS3 and 360 and will feature a Resident Evil 6 demo.

Driven to seek out the Dragon. They say that the one whose heart is taken by the Dragon is forever changed; their destiny now lies with the Dragon. You have been chosen. And now, you are an Arisen. But everything is not as it seems. The choices you make will determine your fate. Make sure you choose wisely, for the path of least resistance and one requiring more courage might grant you immortality but not true freedom. The vast open world is filled with all sorts of characters you'll encounter in addition to massive beasts you'll need to defeat in battle. Capcom's epic new action adventure is unlike anything you've ever seen before!

Looks awesome, if the roleplay part is as good as the combat looks then this could a be an incredible experience.

I hope not. The name "Dragon's Smegma" is unlikely to catch on if it's not rubbish.

Interested. But I don't want to buy it, and then have a PC port released a year later.

Guys watch this video if you are interested.

I love how "survival horror" the game becomes when it turns to night time and how dangerous the world is. This will be pretty special.

Reminds me of a Demon's Souls and Monster Hunter mashup.

Not having played any of those games I'll have to take your word for it (scratch that, I have played SotC and I have no idea where you're coming from with that comparison)

The game will feature a "grab" action, where the main character can grab on or cling to enemies, objects, or NPCs. The player can use this feature for more advanced attacks. For example, the main character can either grab on to a giant griffon's legs and attack it directly, or climb up to reach its head for a more lethal blow.[5] "In a lot of action games, with big enemies the tendency is just to have you hacking away at the shins. You don't get the full effect of fighting a giant boss," Hideaki Itsuno, the director of Dragon's Dogma, said. "With this game you can climb all over it. If it has a body part, you can attack it." The ability to climb enemies has drawn comparisons to Shadow of the Colossus.

Ah, cool.

I haven't played much of SotC but am I right in thinking that if you hang on to a Colossus for too long you eventually lose grip and fall off? I hope they copy that too.

I wonder why more games haven't copied the fatigue when climbing/hanging on element of SotC...

Because usually, it's not a big enough part of the game to warrant it. If you could climb forever in SoTC it would be essentially game-breaking.

I've just ordered the 360 version and unlike Skyrim I'm not going to get the guide even though I will undoubtedly get my ass handed to me on a plate at regular intervals due to my epic lack od gaming skills I'm going to risk it.

Wow, it looks really good. It looks like the game Fable should have been. It also looks like the kind of game which will drop to about £20 a month after release, so I'll wait for that.
