How long before it's available to Silvers?

A whole measly week.

And don't bother using one of those "48hr codes" that come free in know. They don't work for demos. You freeloader.

Cheers.

Yeah, I learned the hard way a while ago about using the codes for demos. Damn MS.

But a week's wait isn't so bad.

If you have a PS3 then the demo's up on the JP marketplace. It's in English too...

Well, just played it there. Much shorter than I was hoping for, and there's literally no point in importing whatever character you make (if you even do) over to the full game.

Anyway, the combat is good. Feels very visceral and it's fun climbing all over the bigger enemies. I'm quite looking forward to the full game.

What the strawberry float is with the black bars at the top and bottom of the screen? :|

And the various HUD elements taking up as much screen space as possible, especially when your party talks :fp:

Played both sections and this demo has put me right off the game.

Demo was decent, but very short. I wasn't really able to get to grips with the system and there is no option to customize the characters class. Taking down the griffon was very fun though.

Are you going to elaborate on that and tell me why it's a good demo, then?

I'd like to say I'm surprised that a game from a team consisting of some of Capcom's top guys is disappointing, but they really aren't as good as they used to be. Their only franchises that are consistently top class these days are Monster Hunter and Street Fighter

It's alright. First demo section doesn't do a particularly good job of demonstrating the game as anything other than a dungeon crawler, when I'm assuming it's a lot more than that.

FAO - Maf: You can turn all that intrusive HUD shite off in the options.

I don't think the HUD would bother me that much if the icons were smaller and the action wasn't sandwiched in between those massive black bars. Astonishing to see that in a 2012 release.

It was the Pawn Subtitles that bothered me the most, especially considering each one only has a couple of different phrases they just repeat over and over again.

I'm still hopeful though. The open world stuff will hopefully be more interesting.

Well that was just about ok, although it didn't live up to any expectations from the first reveal (which was back then, amazing).

I mean..the pawns subtitles, as well as the subtitles going along the bottom of the cropped screen (whats all that about?) was an actual mind ****..i didn't know what to read or listen too (but apparently you can turn them off) so its all good.

Unless theres different ways to kill these beasts later on..other then literally stabbing them or using magic..i can see this getting rather repetitive..but as its a demo..i'll give it the benefit of the doubt for now.

Overall? I'll wait for a serious price drop but i am disappointed that playing it for the first time, didnt grab me like it did all those months ago when it was first revealed.

That was a really bad demo, the second part (the griffon) took me all of 2 minutes to complete and there seemed to be no point to the climbing mechanic at all in the scenario. Given how much they've showcased said mechanic you'd think the fight would at least have something to climb.
Also the screen was horrifically cluttered until I went and turned half of the options off

Loved the demo, personally.

The thing that got on my nerves the most was the narrative, with multiple conversations overlapping.

Played the demo earlier this morning, and I really enjoyed it. The overlapping conversations are quite annoying, but a quick visit to the options menu cleared that right up. It's ashame it was so short though, and the sections on offer didn't really offer much in the way of weapon variety. Fighting the Chimera and Griffin were good fun though, and the grab mechanic will be good to see in action on some of the larger enemies of the retail release. I loved the character customisation options aswell.

I'll be pre-ordering this, and I look forward to release day!

I could be playing it right now if only I wasn't so lazy (cba dragging ps3 and its paraphernalia up one whole flights of stairs) and cheap.

MS, Capcom :x
