That's a shame, but it never got the mass appeal that I really believed it deserved. People never really new exactly what it was.

And yes, it was far too deep and complex for most with a passing interest in knocking something up (certainly for me). Conversely, I'm not sure what the solution to that would have been that didn't also dumb down what it was able to achieve.

Bring it out on PC? Halo 5 never released on PC but you could make MP maps in pc and port them over.

I guess so. I always assume there are tools of this nature that are readily available on PC (I am almost certainly wrong). The fact that it could all be done using an interface as simple as a controller on a console that did not need any tweaking was kind of incredible.

But it didn't sell.

I just think MAYBE it would have had far more content if it had a PC version. Halo Infinite has some incredible fan made maps and the tools for it are far less expansive than Dreams.

Can’t help but think this has been a massive failure and waste of time. I suppose as a creative endeavour nothing is a waste of time, Media Molecule made some incredible tools and no doubt a bunch of people ran with it amazingly and made some super creations. That said though it’s audience was microscopically small and it’s unclear what the aim behind it all was. Asking people to invest the hundreds or thousands of hours to make something quality only to have it be for such a tiny market always seemed like a pointless endeavour.

Over the past 10 years with Sony shuttering some UK studios and selling others I’m bemused what they see in MM or ever saw in Dreams. It feels like forever they’ve been working on this and I can’t imaging it did much financially.

Always curious to see what UK studios do next but Dreams left a rather sour taste for me. At the very least they should just put it on PC and make all the tools available to as big an audience as possible for as little as possible.

That's a good point. A bigger userbase would have benefited every user.

They should have released it for PS5 and VR2. Perhaps even put it on PS+ as a freebie. I was always keen to play it, but was waiting for a PS5 version.

If they make LBP4 next then perhaps they'll re-use some of the tools/work they did on Dreams, so it wasn't a complete waste.
