Okay, so over the last couple of months i've been having some pretty vivid dreams, and a lot of them have been of a similar theme.

Not only that, but i'm able to recall some of these dreams perfectly, with some parts even down to specific sights and sounds.

The main recurring theme i've been having is being in a city, but these cities are places i have never been, nor do i believe that they even exist. Some occasionally resemble places i know yet have added features which make them different, such as a high street similar to Exeter, but with the walls above the shopfronts covered in bright advertising screens like piccadilly circus only with them being on both sides of the road (it was as if i'd travelled forward in time, which is insane). Another involved a train station in which the trains themselves looked more like bullet trains yet the setting was supposed to be in this country as said locos were departing for Bristol. Last night was even more bizarre, a huge sprawling complex of busy streets lined with shops which i was told was Canada (god knows why, i've never even been there).

So yeah, lots of weird dream stuff i don't really have an explanation for, and although i've heard that dreams are largely open to interpretation, i'm not entirely sure what the meaning of this stuff is supposed to be.

That said however, it's not the first time i've had recurring themes, back when i was a teen i would get what's known as 'lucid dreams' in which i could manipulate the course of the dream at will.

Anyhow, have you had any specific dreams you can clearly recall? Have you had any specific recurring themes? Then again, have you too had a lucid dream? I'm interested to know, so be sure to share any stories you have with the rest of us.

Not so much a dream, but I've started biting the crap out of mouth in my sleep lately. I bit down so hard I took a chunk out of the side of my mouth, had to go to the dentist a few weeks ago for it.

It still hasn't healed, because I still haven't stopped biting down. It's irritating.

I normally just have weird dreams. Horses on rollercoasters, nuns on bouncy castles, killer Buddhists, all memorable and very weird.

I have known adventures, seen places you people will never see, I've been Offworld and back...frontiers! I've stood on the back deck of a blinker bound for the Plutition Camps with sweat in my eyes watching the stars fight on the shoulder of Orion. I've felt wind in my hair, riding test boats off the black galaxies and seen an attack fleet burn like a match and disappear. I've seen it...felt it!

Most dreams that I remember tend to be very realistic and mostly feature people I know or used to know when I was younger.

I get sleep paralysis sometimes. Imagine seeing an actual three foot spider on the ceiling or feeling a murderer slip under the sheets behind you, all whist you can't move or speak. Fun times.

I dream most nights. Lots of nightmares too. Had one last night about being stuck in this village in the middle of no where which was haunted by some rather frightening and malicious spirits/ghosts. Scared the crap out of me. Woke up with a start at around 3am.

Before waking up this morning I then dreamt I was have a pleasant walk through some woods with my parents and we were laughing about our favourite "That's Amazing" sketches from The Fast Show.

Not often I remember having two very different dreams in the same night.

As for reoccurring dreams, take your bog standard 'in a strange place and I can't find the way home' dream and fill it with zombies. Been having these for years and they're quite regular.

3am is the witching hour, it is said that paranormal forces are at their strongest and most mischievious between 3 and 4.

I once was in a pretty deep sleep when i felt as if someone was nudging me to wake me up, then, upon waking up, i immediately assumed i had slept in and so i was being told to get up and stop being a lazy stay in bed (as has happened before), then i realised it was still dark and was sometime during the early hours.

I do like dreaming though, even the scary ones. Even if I wake up during a dream then drift back off I usually find the next day feeling quite refreshed. More so than if I don't dream.

I get this occasionally too! I don't see monsters though, for me it feels like I'm being suffocated or having a heart attack until I snap out of it.

I have really mundane but satisfying dreams, like where I'll be eating a biscuit and it's really tasty, and then I wake up and am pissed off that I didn't get to finish it.

My dreams tend to be located in placed that are a weird distillation of various places I have been in real life or seen/read about in fiction. Something the interior of one building is crammed into the exterior of another, regardless of their relative size so you get this weird tardis-like effect going on, or something mundane is dropped into the landscape or some other planet or world. I think my brain just copies and pastes random stuff and then smooths over the cracks.

I am a survivor of PTSD so I had the same dream for like 2 years and sometimes still get it occasionally it's a total replay of what happend which gave me PTSD with the same sounds, smells feelings etc... Still not the worst dreams I have though, I sometimes have very real dreams where my mum's alive and we have gone somewhere or are talking or just spending time together as a family then if I wake up slowly it kinda dawn's on me all over again that she's dead and has been for quiet a few years and it's just the crapist way to wake up.

Those dreams are the worst. It hits pretty hard when you wake up. What makes it worse is that you can't really think rationally after you wake up, I find.

I, too, have the old sleep paralysis from time to time. Invariably the dream tends to form around the paralysis so I'm either stuck in a tube with my arms by my side, or have someone sat on top of me. Weirdly, this also seems to contain an element of being punched in the balls really hard.

I once posted a dream I had involving Wayne Rooney's mum - I'll see if I can find it...

And here it is:

So, I'm on holiday in Dawlish Warren, South Devon, and being given a guided tour around the Red Rock (minor coastal landmark), access to which has just been allowed, following the recent flood damage. Anyways, I'm in a small group and the tour guide is taking us along a narrow path that passes what looks like a pool of very small pebbles. The guide stops us all and warns us that we shouldn't go anywhere near the 'pool' as it is, in fact, quicksand that no-one has ever escaped from. Fair enough, says I, and we continue our little walk.

Moments later Wayne Rooney appears, looking mightily fed up and pre-occupied with his mobile phone. As he's not paying attention, Wayne inadvertantly wanders off the path and into the quicksand, in which he proceeds to slowly sink. Now, this is happening at a pace that could be measured with a sundial, however, as he's busy texting or whatever, he doesn't notice until he's up to his neck. Despite the fact that I've been standing there watching this, I decide that I'd better do something so I run over and grab his hand. Unfortunately, it's the one with his phone in it and he thinks I'm trying to steal it and so yanks it away and calls me a 'twunt'. At this point his head disappears under the surface of the quicksand so I quickly reach into the pool, grab his other hand and try up pull him out. However, such is the grasp of the quicksand, that my efforts have no effect and so I scream for help. The rest of the group turn around and shout 'Use the force!' and so I close my eyes and focus all my energy on pulling Wayne Rooney out of the quicksand, which results in a large anus forming in the pool, from which a dirty and crying Rooney is shat out onto the path, still holding my hand.

Wayne is very grateful for me saving his life and invites me back to his house, to watch his mum have a shower. He leads me up into the bathroom and tells me to hide in the airing cupboard, under a stack of towels, which I do as he closes the door, leaving it ajar sufficiently so that I have a clear view of the shower. Moments later, his mum - a 6ft slim brunette, who I estimate to be in her late 20s (yes, I know) - enters the bathroom, takes off her dressing gown, and gets into the shower. I can see everything, and it's good. She's in there barely ten seconds before she turns the shower off and gets out, looking around for a towel. At this point, I start panicking as I suddenly realise that I'm currently hiding under said towel, in the cupboard, having a perv at her naked bod. I freeze in terror as the cupboard door opens and Wayne's mum - who has spectacular tits, by the way - leans down to reach for the towel. In a movement not dissimilair to the magician's tablecloth trick, she whips the towel away, exposing me, and leaps back in shock, letting out a startled scream. Struggling to cover up her naked, moist body with the towel, she stares straight at me and then shouts 'Wayne! Wayne! Have you been in the bloody quicksand again?'.

And then I woke up.
