Please sell enough to do a Hellboy and get a sequel.

Indeed. Brilliant news. I think word of mouth could do it wonders. Lets hope it does pick up enough to do that.

it needed to make 40 million us box office to break even. it didn't but I don't think it lost too much world wide so lets hope this pushes a nice profit for them and gets them wanting it.

Word of mouth and DVD sales can make a huge difference. Look at futurama, family guy, firefly led to serenity etc.

Let's hope the studios realise it reviewed well and try again. Trouble is they never pushed it enough and the 3d only screenings hurt its profit. I'd love a sequel, Karl urban did a great job and it sets up the universe well for follow ups.

Totally agree. They sadly rode the 3d bubble just as it burst. I'm sure if they did part 2 it would be in plain old 2d.

Lent this to a work colleague who I thought would enjoy it.

He said it was "alright".

I was going to sentence him to death, but he cooperated in another ongoing investigation so I gave him life without parole in the iso-cubes.

Stern but fair.

Just watched this. My word, it was awesome. Absolutely fantastic.

Now that you lot have mentioned in cinemas it was only in 3D the slightly indulgent slo-mo scenes make a bit more sense.

His face must have hurt from all that grimacing.

Also, I'm not up on 2000AD stuff, but is the idea of a Judge being able to be bought really possible?

Given the existence of the SJS, it's probably possible but a very foolish and short lived career choice.

I've never read any Dredd comics but are there any in particular that are recommended for total newcomers and stand out on their own without needing to know loads of backstory/history/etc?

I love the scene where they're moving up the stairs. The way Dredd takes them out is so cool.

Also when he chucks Caleb off the balcony after him being made out to be quite the threat.

Did anyone else find the ending to be quite anti-climatic yet somehow satisfying? Almost because she wasn't waiting up there with some huge surprise to turn the end fight into the long, protracted fight or something.

I think I might start reading some of the comics. Is it ever really explained why he's so detached from everything? From what little I know about the comics, the other Judges aren't really like him at all.

"It's all the deep end." 8-)

Still not seen this yet, but if their is going to be a sequel, what better than The Cursed earth, apocalypse war, Judge Cal or The Judge child?

Probably need to be 3 hours long though.....

Yes?

I loved that it's essentially a restaging of the opening. Mama thinks she's got the upper hand, that Dredd will have to forego his usual black and white interpretation of the law, that a compromise will be reached as surely he wouldn't endanger all those civilians? So he throws her out the strawberry floating window. YEAH.

Watched this again last week, and still love it. Even more so on second viewing.

One thing I wasn't sure on though, at the start when they first meet and interview Anderson, she's asked to use her psychic powers to determine how many people are on the other side of the mirror, and she correctly answers 2, and then goes onto say how Dredd has this controlled anger, and yet underneath there is...and then other judge suddenly cuts her off.

Is this alluding to something about Dredd that the comics explain?
