Also the full set of series 3 were apparently up on Amazon US earlier. How much was the Bomb playlist?! That's one of the two sets I need but it's 40$ from resellers on Amazon and with import duty and postage on top it's about 2-3 times what it should cost in ripoff Britain prices

Was something silly like 37$ plus postage. Went for it as with being toys r us exclusive thought they might slowly vanish now its closed down.

Don't get why series 3 and 4 are so hard to find when the other sets all seem readily available. Saw 3 in stock on hasbro but then found they won't ship to UK :fp:

I think it's partly because series 3 and 4 have only been released in North America so far and because that's created a demand there are a lot of scalpers buying to sell :slol: I imported two lots of each over and sold the second of each set to cover my cards

It is a little annoying how little support they've given it in the UK - there's no official shop like in the US, some cards haven't even released here and pretty much only Amazon stocks it now as GAME appear to have dropped it and Maplins shut down. Hopefully with Season 2 they'll give it a new bigger push over here as well as the US. I think if they could get the RRP for the game itself down, maybe even bundle it with the whole of season 1 or something.. I think like £69.99 for the board and season 1 nearer xmas with a bit of a marketing push it could do really well.

I did think they could also use the tech from dropmix to make some interesting console stuff. Maybe a karting or wipeout style racing game where the powerup pads generate part of the song (like placing a card in dropmix). You have to build up more of your song by crossing as many pads as you can which builds your score, your rival does the same stealing bits back from you and whoever scores the most wins.. get your whole song playing for a bonus. Stuff like that.. or a catpure the flag style FPS but you capture areas that generate the beats of your teams song in the same way.

It's a shame actually the dropmix board can't talk to consoles, might've got more attention if it had the option of pairing with a PS4 or Xbox (as well as phone for none console players) and putting the visualisations on the TV.

Yeh an Xbox app that could utilise a Bluetooth connection would have been great. I ended up buying a Lightning/HDMI cable for my iPhone but you still need to rely on a smartphone which is a pain.

I know that Harmonix experimented with an FPS a little while ago called Chroma but that got cancelled during development, so it's always something they're working on applying what they've done historically in new ways.

DropMix Insider - August Edition (New Free Mode, Season 2, New Promo Card)
Hello Insiders!

Welcome to the inaugural DropMix Insider newsletter! We’re celebrating August with a ton of juicy details about the features in an upcoming game update and, of course, Season 2 music.

First up, a brand-new single player game mode. Let’s dive in!

Puzzle Mode
We all know that DropMix is really fun to play with your friends and family, but we felt like we could do more to support fun ways to play when you don’t have people over. And so, we set out to create an additional mode that you can play all by yourself. Introducing Puzzle Mode!

Image

Puzzle Mode is an entirely new way to play and experience your DropMix cards. Puzzle Mode combines the strategy of Clash with the fast pace of Party in a fun, engaging, and dynamic solo experience. You’ll be matching requests and cashing in on huge combos to earn high scores.

Here’s how it works: each slot on the board corresponds to a row of requests in the app. Play cards to clear requests and earn points. You can also hit the DropMix button to use the spinner as a way to clear requests.

As new requests come in, adjacent blocks of the same request will combine into bigger blocks. When you clear these, you get huge combos and extra points! Knock out smaller requests to help form these blocks and set up big plays! However, be careful! New requests will increase the size of your stack. If a stack overflows, it will clear out all requests in that row, along with any potential points.

Image

As you start playing Puzzle Mode, you’ll realize it’s very intuitive and easy to jump into, but much like Clash and Party, there’s deep strategy on a turn by turn basis. For you Insiders, here are a few pro tips that will help increase your score:
  • You can play multiple cards during a single turn – keep an eye on the timer at the top of the screen as reference for when your action will end.
  • Your focus should be on building big blocks but you also want to make sure you have a plan to clear them!
  • FX cards are a super handy way to clear out pesky single requests and help build bigger blocks.
  • Clearing a full row gets you an extra bonus.
  • You can rack up big points in the Finale. The finale is an opportunity play any remaining cards once your actions are complete.
  • Use the DropMix button to spin on your second-to-last move to set up the finale.
  • Take your time! The timer will determine whether you can play multiple cards during a turn or not but you have all the time you want before you play that first card. If you build a mix you like, feel free to let it linger!

We’ve been working on this mode for a long time and are excited to finally release it. We can’t wait to hear what kind of new mixes you’ll stumble upon while playing, as well as see if you can beat our high scores.

Nick Gregoire’s (QA on DropMix) personal best so far is 1,453 with 326 requests met, if you’re looking to beat one of our own!

Season 2
A second season of DropMix content is on the way and it all begins with four playlists being released later this fall: Energy, Fantastic, Flora, and Instinct. Each playlist has a theme that speaks to the vibe of the music.
  • Energy is all about up-tempo feel good music.
  • Flora has a lush, atmospheric vibe with a focus on some amazing female artists.
  • Fantastic gets you grooving while you play with upbeat dance tracks.
  • Instinct brings a menagerie of music from around the world.

These cards will add a ton of dimension to your mixes and also give you some fun and new options in Clash and other game modes.

Image

Season 2 features many songs you’ve been asking for, whether it’s through our social channels, Discord, or in person at events. There are also some selections that are sure to surprise you!

Savvy insiders (like you!) might notice some songs in this list previously appeared in Season 1. Sometimes, a song has more great music than we can fit into a single season! Season 2 cards from any returning songs always feature different music from the track, in addition to their new art.

We know you’re dying to read the list of songs, so we’ll just cut to the chase:

Image

In addition to all these great songs and artists for mixing, let’s not forget about competitive play. Energy, Fantastic, Flora, and Instinct bring eight new FX cards with some familiar and new effects for you to add to your decks. Let’s take a look:

Image

You’ve probably noticed a new icon on Cover The Bases and Loop The Loop from the Fantastic playlist and With The Pack from the Instinct playlist. That new icon on Cover The Bases and With The Pack represents a mechanic that is activated when you play a card on top of another specific card type, while Loop The Loop represents a mechanic that blocks the following card type from being played.

For instance, Cover The Bases gives you an extra point when you play it on an empty slot. With The Pack lets you draw an extra card when played on top of a yellow card. Loop The Loop blocks red cards from being played.

With these new effects, the other six new FX cards, and more to come in future playlists, the state of competitive DropMix play will be shaken up!

Badges
This update comes with another fun feature that is explicitly for the collectors out there. Introducing: Badges.

Badges are essentially achievements that are earned by collecting cards and using them in unique circumstances. For instance, you can unlock a badge for collecting all the cards in a particular playlist, making pro level plays in Clash, sharing mixes, and more.

Image

I know you are all familiar with the collection view, as it is where you go to register your cards into your collection. Now it’ll also serve as the spot to check in on your badge progress for each playlist! Once you earn all the badges for a particular playlist, you will unlock a special rainbow effect for that playlist icon across the entire game!

New Promo Card Coming
In the initial Insider newsletter we told you that we were preparing a new promo card coming to DropMix.

Today, we’re excited to reveal that “Go Go Power Rangers – Redux” by Ron Wasserman (you may know this song as the main Mighty Morphin Power Rangers theme) will be the fourth DropMix Promo card.

This is a high energy wild card that works will add some zip to any mix you put in in.

This promo card was developed to support the upcoming Power Morphicon, in Anaheim, CA later this month (Aug 17-19) [link] and, as such, will be available to folks attending that convention. However, if you *don’t* plan to be in Anaheim that weekend, we’re working with Hasbro to figure out a way to make the card available to our DropMix Insiders. Stay tuned for details on that.

Puzzle mode/Badges are supposedly coming in an App update this week.

Managed to get hold of this plus the Rock, Hip-Hop, Pop and Electronic playlist packs from GAME for their reduced prices.

Not really played around with it much yet, but the puzzle mode sounds like a welcome addition.

Pubic Service Announcement!

My daily check for the Bomb and Diamond playlists on Amazon US I noticed all of the Series packs are in stock.

That's the complete Series 1, 2, 3, 4. Each series has 6 packs of 5 cards. Series 1 and 2 make up the "Seer", "Dapper", "Puff" and "Hightower" playlists. Series 3 and 4 make up the "Fever", "Breaker", "Socket" and "Moonlight" playlists.

As with all Dropmix packs, all packs are unique and you can't get doubles unless you buy multiples of the same pack. In the case of these "Discover" packs, the front card displayed in the pack window will tell you which 5 cards are in the pack.

You can use this spreadsheet to check which cards are what: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... =811663749

You don't need to collect an entire "Playlist" to have a functioning deck. These are just balanced decks created by Harmonix that work well together, but you are free to create your own decks. Use the deck creator tool in the Dropmix App to get a "legal" deck as some cards are worth more than others.

For anyone who doesn't know, Amazon US allows you to check out in £currency if you credit/debit card has a poor exchange rate/fees. Generally Credit Cards have the best rates but it's best to check. Also Amazon US will take additional money (noted during checkout) for any import fees so you get an actual final figure and no surprise fees upon delivery. With regards to import fees, I seem to remember it being cheaper buying these the Discover packs separate, but again check yourself before hand by trying to check out 1 set, 2 sets, etc.

It's a pretty good game with others although it can be pretty complicated  especially if drinks are involved. It's pretty fun on your own too just throwing random cards down and seeing what works together. You'll have to let us know your thoughts when you get a chance to try it.

Not sure. I message Hasbro sometime ago and they said they still supported the product. I am hoping they push it a bit more with the arrival of Season 2. They've had supply constraints up until now just with North America :fp: outside of that area there's only been the Main game, 4 additional playlist (which you have) and packs of Series 1 and 2 discover cards (however sold separately so impossible to know which of the 6 unique packs in each series you'll end up with)

Looking at the Country pack right now on Amazon US. Has that ever been in the UK? It'll cost $20 all in but feel hard done by when I've been finding them at Game for £2.99!!

Nope, outside of the US/Canada there have only been the 4 sets that came bundled in the base game, the 4 additional playlists you have and Series 1 and 2 cards which make another 4 themed playlists.

The 16 card playlist packs RRP £14.99 and the 5 card discover packs are £4.99, so anything cheaper than that is a bargain. I imported nearly all my cards from Amazon US in the end because even with shipping and sometimes Tax (if it was applicable) it still worked out a good few quid cheaper than I could get similar packs here.

Did you check the card list link I posted a few days ago? You can see what cards make up that country pack.

My dropmix app updated! Did anyone try the puzzle mode yet? It looks like 4 new playlists were added to the collection section which I'm looking through now. "Energy" and "Fantastic" playlists look pretty good

Nice. Me and the wife are having a couple of friends over tonight to play some of this, exciting to see how it goes with 4 players.. good timing for the new update too.

Still need to get series 3 and 4 but prob be after payday now.. but then think I have all of Season 1 barring the special cards (keep looking at transformers theme ones on ebay but just a little too much to justify for one card).

Cheers Bido for the help. I went for it. The beats on the Country pack are supposedly great mixing material.

I’m not a fan of Country but it’s a pretty good set. It has my worst Rock Band song in the pack (Ride a horse or whatever it’s called) and weirdly Poison’s “Every rose has its thorn” can mix in to a lot of things easily!

The other country playlist is split across Series 3 or 4 (I can’t remember which) Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” is so good :datass:

PostRe: Dropmix - Uno meets DJ Hero - Flora & Energy pre-order with 20% off code pg2 (iOS/Android)

The first 2 playlist packs from Season 2 (Energy and Flora) playlists are up for pre-order on Amazon COM

Use these codes for 20% off
  • 20DMXENERGY
  • 20FLORA

If you order them seperately you can avoid any customs tax which works out more than paying additional postage. You can also take advantage of both 20% codes.

They come to $16.45 after 20% off which is roughly £12.58. If you pay by credit card you'll get the best exchange rate and currency fee. If you don't have a credit card then you can actually pay by your chosen currency (pay in £'s and you'll get a good but not as good as mastercard exchange rate)

You can check out the songs in the playlists here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... g/htmlview (Season 2 are at the bottom of the spreadsheet). Like season 1, each playlist pack comes with a 16th specific bonus hidden card but we won't know what each one is until the packs hit the wild.

Pre-ordered the Fantastic playlist a few weeks ago but it got taken down. Mine was sent out yesterday so I should have it in the next week or two! Amazon now have it back up to order too: https://www.amazon.com/Hasbro-Dropmix-P ... 076D9MWS9/

The track list is much better for this one (I think). It's mostly electronic themed

1 Haddaway What Is Love 2 Wild
2 Sia Cheap Thrills (ft. Sean Paul) 2 Lead
3 Blondie Heart of Glass 3 Lead
4 DJ Steve Porter Guitek 1 Loop
5 Soft Cell Tainted Love 1 Loop
6 Rick James Super Freak 2 Loop
7 Axwell /\ Ingrosso More Than You Know 3 Loop
8 DJ Steve Porter Guitek 1 Beat
9 Soft Cell Tainted Love 1 Beat
10 Blondie Heart of Glass 2 Beat
11 DJ Khaled All I Do is Win (ft. T-Pain) 3 Beat
12 Axwell /\ Ingrosso More Than You Know 2 Bass
13 Sia Cheap Thrills (ft. Sean Paul) 3 Bass
14 FX Loop the Loop 2 White
15 FX Cover the Bases 3 White
16 Secret Baffler Card

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... edit#gid=0

There's no promo code for this one like the last two packs unfortunately

I think that leaves just one more playlist to be released in Season 2. I still need "Flawless" and "Bomb", but strawberry float paying scalper prices :x

Definitely worth trying at that price! Would make a good Christmas game. With the addon packs too that’s a crazy price!

I think once the final playlist pack is released that will probably be the last new product for dropmix

I got the fantastic playlist last week but I’ve put that one away for Christmas

Instinct is now available on Amazon. It’s a round £15 imported but if you have a MasterCard you can pay in dollars and save a tiny bit instead of paying in £ on Amazon
