I think the new stuff will be more significant than some people realise. Right now, Nintendo doesn't need DSi to be a huge success in US and Europe, which is why its price is inflated. When it's time for DSL to be replaced (basically when the download service is really starting to look at serious numbers) then the price will drop.

Oh I'm sure it will be a huge success in its time - I just wonder when this drip feeding of improvements is going to start for the wii also ?

 Same here, I got it off a site called importmadness and got stung by import tax. Cost us about £150 and the games at the time where shite :fp: I was amazed by Super mario 64 being on a handheld :fp:

Had it for November though 8-) I mainly got it because I was using it for my A- level tech project at the time (reshaped the back so you had something to grab onto helping you hold the brick in one hand).

Think I got £60-80 for it on ebay and got a ds lite on launch.

The price is higher than I was hoping for, so I won't be getting at launch.

The bigger screen/camera etc. are good and all, but not enough to make me pick one up yet.
Once there is a price drop or some cracking DSware games are released, I'm sure I'll get one.

I traded my old DS in a few months ago ready for one of these. It's a bit pricey but I'm still getting one, the new features seem nice enough and I miss my DS. :(

Fantastic news.

I mean in the sense that this release will probably knock a tenner off the price of the DS Lite should I need to replace my current model. Cheers, Nintendo!

I think the whole "its fifty quid more expensive" might mean we wount see a dslite price drop any time soon.

I was expecting (and hoping for) a £130 price-point, so this is disappointing.

Saying that, if the D-Pad is an improvement over the shite DSLite D-Pad, I'll have to consider upgrading, yet again.

I'll stick to my DS Lite so I can still play my GBA games if you don't mind, Nintendo.

So, I'm the only one who's getting one on launch day, then?

I seriously need to fall back in love with my DS (and PSP, for that matter), so the fact I'm still on the original model means that I may just skip the Lite and go straight for the DSi.

Not quite at launch though, as it's a tad too expensive. I've never really been bothered by the fact that my old DS is hideously bulky and an eye-sore, as it's served me well.

I haven't bought a new game since Phantom Hourglass though (and before then, it was Pokemon and Mario Kart, I think), so I desperately need to get some stuff. I also need to... tinker with my PSP and get some cheap games for that. I haven't played it since the World Cup in 2006.

Whilst I do think it's too expensive, the chances of me not picking one up at launch are virtually nill, I'm a sucker for Nintendo's marginal upgrades, I have mountains of Nintendo handhelds (I think it's 2 GBAs, 4 SPs, 2 Micros, 2 DSes, 2 DSLites).

Being a cheap, nasty Nintendo/DS whore I'll get one sometime in June after my college year, but £150 is definitely too much, especially when it's lost GBA compatibility. I can't really see it taking off in the way it has in Japan at that price.
