Awww, you know I'd do a lot for you - like let you be Chris when we play (RE5) together - but... I don't think this is going to happen...

I might get a GB Micro around launch day so I have something to play my GBA games on when I eventually get a DSi, and so I can finally have a truly portable handheld console (unlike the Lite which is definitely not pocket sized).

Well there we go. £149.99.

I guess it's up to Nintendo to pony up and convince us all that the DSi is worth the money.

Metroid Dread as DSiWare would do it for me.

Why would you be paying more to download exclusive games?

Sorry if I missed this, but I believe Shas is saying:

That first extra £50 on top of the price of the standard DSLite is just the start. You'll then add to that £50 by paying for DSi Ware points. So, if it looks expensive now, it'll get more expensive.

As Sony have shown anyway, downloading games doesn't automatically make them cheaper. :fp: (@ Sony).

Am i right in thinking that it has a matte finish now?

Only DSi software seems to be region locked, ie the downloadable games.

Nintendo will be adding adaptations of Katamari Damacy and Mr. Driller to the Japanese DSiWare service soon.

That's according to Famitsu (read by Offworld), which also claims a WiiWare version of Mr. Driller will appear soon.

The Wii game will be called Mr. Driller World, be completely new and have 24 stages to chisel through. The DS version, catchily dubbed SekuttohamureruHoriHoriAction, will have 17 levels. Both will be out across Japan next week.

Katamari Damacy for DSiWare, meanwhile, will be a block-based affair and appear sometime in March.

Nintendo recently said the DSi will be released here on 3rd April, presumably with DSiWare store to match. The redesigned handheld, which features bigger screens, a built-in camera, on-board memory and memory card slot, will cost GBP 149.99.

I'm actually quite tempted to order one of these, I still have only a launch DS, so I imagine it'll be more of an upgrade than those of you with lites.

I might get one as I don't own a Lite. It depends on the Euro price really which still doesn't seem to be set in stone. Anything over 170 and it's a "no".

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

GAME doing half-price DSi deal

GAME will offer the Nintendo DSi for half-price this April to anyone trading in an old console or handheld.

Xbox 360, PSP-3000, Wii and DS machines are accepted, and knock the subsequent asking price for the DSi down to GBP 74.99.

"Our customers are very excited about the launch of the DSi, and all of our stores are fully geared up to take pre-orders and help customers understand all of the innovative features of the new machine," GAME operations director Robert Quinn told GamesIndustry.biz.

"We're working closely with Nintendo to organise a huge launch, which is perfectly timed for the Easter holidays.

"As always, we'll have plenty of stock and some fantastic launch offers to give customers the best possible experience. We're already offering the DSi for half price if customers trade in one of their other consoles," he added.

The deal puts the handheld at a lower price point than many retailers sell the DS Lite for. At the standard price of GBP 149.99, however, the DSi costs more than the Arcade Xbox 360 unit.

The DSi launches here on 3rd April. The new handheld features bigger screens, a built-in microphone, on-board memory, an SD memory card slot, an extra brightness setting and other bits and bobs.

Trade in a 360 and still pay nearly 80 notes for a DS is a joke

Good for a DS though...in fact really, really good.

If I can get £75 for my old DS (assuming they won't only accept lites), thats a really good deal.

Yeah for a DS that is pretty good but I am betting it'll Lites only.
