Who watched DVDs with them?

I'm watching Spaced series 2 with the commentaries on at the moment, and it adds a lot to the series. The Black Books commentaries aren't as good, but they can be entertaining too.

I rarely watch commentaries. I just don't find them interesting.

I use them when I'm watching a series for the second time.

I'd need to be guaranteed that the commentators are a good laugh / genuinely interesting before doing so.

I watched half of the Terminator 3 commentary, Arnie makes some hilarious comments about breasts.

I'm addicted to them. I'm a process junkie. I love listening to how things were created, re-worked etc.

If a DVD is re-released with a commentary I'll sell the other version.

Commentaries I'd recommend are :

The Wire, Lost, Goodfellas, Fight Club, Seven, Oceans Eleven.

Yeah, I think they are a great extra to have on a DVD, and I tend to watch them if it's a film that I've enjoyed.

You've already mentioned Spaced, and the cast commentaries on the Shaun of the Dead/Hot Fuzz discs are also very funny. The cast commentaries on the Lord of the Rings Extended Editions are worth listening to as well.

Sometimes use them, but only if i've seen the DVD content before. Otherwise they speak over the dialogue, and you miss out.

Yeah, there's about three or four per film. Really good DVD packages.

Only those from Futurama are interesting to listen to mostly because Billy West is sometimes in character.

I've listened to the commentary on every DVD I own. They satisfy the part of me that goes mental for podcasts and the like.

I watch them on films or shows that I like, yeah. Spaced has already been mentioned but their commentaries are really great. There was one moment where the director was essentially nominating himself for a BAFTA, based on one particular scene, which was hysterical. I listened to the commentaries on Wolf Creek recently, too, which were really fascinating.

The only commentaries I've listened to have been when watching Futurama Series 1. I think I did make a start with Series 2, but then couldn't be bothered so I turned the commentary off. I might go back to it evenually though, and maybe check out Shaun of the Dead's and Hot Fuzz's as well.

Anything by Robert Rodriquez generaly has brilliant comentry about how little everything cost and how he faked stuff on the cheap.

I usually only listen to the commentaries on comedy films, one of the best I've heard is the This Is Spinal Tap one, the actors do it in character as the band, and it's very funny. The Spaced, Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz ones are also great, I was actually considering buying the region 1 version of Spaced because there are new commentaries but came to my senses.

Liked The Wire's commentary tracks, but only on the second viewing of course.

This, I have tried it in the past, it just doesn't intrest me how many times they strawberry floating shot that scene and what lenses they were using.
