It's Fifa night tonight with my mate, but if you're still playing at about 10pm when he goes home I'll join up for a couple of quests.

Did the first 'proper' sequence in the dark last night and I pretty much gooseberry fool myself.
Running full-pelt into the pitch black with those things making that bloody horrible noise behind me, and choosing to turn the flash light on when a Zed is mere inches away from my face...

Anyone climbed that big electricity pylon not too far NE of The Tower? There's a Safe House there. That produced far more vertigo than Far Cry 4 ever managed IMO.

"Press Triangle to look behind you whilst running." Ok, I tried it.

I got super creeped out when I did that look behind gooseberry fool.

This really feels like a survivor game. First time in a while where I panicked playing a game.

Night time is too much :shifty:

I don't even like turning my back on the world to pick locks during daytime after hearing *those* sounds. strawberry float knows what I'll do if there any nighttime story missions.

Thoroughly enjoying this so far. I like the tense nature of the game come nightfall.

Just tried to buy this and realised it's banned in Germany. Honestly.

Will import it, this has really stood out in a month where I thought I'd be getting The Order.

Wah! I did a few story missions in the second zone and all of a sudden I'm 70% complete! Time to do a few side missions.

Whomever designed the town hall side mission needs cutting with a electrified cutting thing. You DO NOT send people into a dungeon and then ask them to EXIT IT to do a strawberry floating fetch quest involving a mini boss. :fp:

:?

Spent ages fighting like five guys to save those two guys in the back, got it down to this guy who was busy being felt up by that zombie and then two runners come along and kill the two survivors in an instant.

I usually end up killing them myself thanks to friendly fire. (as in I throw a molotov and literally kill them with fire :fp:)

Story is about 80% complete and I am still having a blast playing this.

I've concentrated on side missions so storyline hasnt gone too far, it's just a brilliant game, I cant see Dead Island 2 beating this, the parkour is amazing.

Haven't played this in a while. Love reading the stories about it

I'll need to pluck up the courage to go out in the dark :dread:

Fabian Delph is a banana split.

 I absolutely shart my pants last night.

I was in the sewers :dread: :dread: :dread: transitioning into a building above which thanks to the map, I could see was teeming with enemies. Once inside I walk through a very dark corridor leading to a open stairwell, climb three flights and come to a landing and open doorway. Torch goes off and while crouching I inch toward a lit corridor, I take a peek and just about manage to see the legs of the runner type. Opposite the door I'm peeking through is a open room. I back away toward the stairs again and lob a firecracker into said room. Nearest zombs go for it and I lob a molotov and a few more firecrackers. At least one zomb dies as more (there are about 6 more in total on that level) head toward the noise. I back away even more, moving down to the second flight of stairs but continue to throw firecrackers through the doorway above in the hope of attracting zombs to the flames. Just before the last firecracker is thrown I somehow manage to nudge the aim downward (I know this because I viewed the recorded clip over and over :slol: ) and the firecracker hits the balcony and attracts the zombs to my location. As I say, I shat 'em. I quickly run down the second and third flight of stairs just in time to meet the badly aimed firecracker landing at my feet at the bottom :slol: I pelt it down the corridor and back into the sewer and hide to the left of the door. All the zombs are now at the bottom of the stairwell. They died a fiery death, but not before this happened...

Damn. Wish I'd known that. Would have cut down on the bandit dancing.

Aaand done. Loved it. I dunno which version of Dead Island I played (game started in a hotel and ended with a chopper flight) but this was better. As with FC 4 it didn't do a whole lot new but I just couldn't stop playing it, so it must have done something right. Game climax (so almost everything after game's point of no return message) was great too.
One of the most impressive things DL does compared to other games where verticality is a feature, is it actually makes you feel a sense of vulnerability when you're high in the sky. Hopefully the AC games will swipe some of the techniques Techland used to achieve that.

This game has a bunch of really silly balancing issues.

The headstomp is so ridiculously op. You can just mash x at anything coming at you and then stamp on it's head and insta kill it.

My last one. Thought I'd carry on strawberry floating about even after I was done with the story but I've lost the drive to play it. Was great while it lasted.

Sadly, I think I'm done with this. Playing it just pisses me off at this point. The parkour is way better than the combat and I'm getting to the point where the game just wants me to fight people a lot.

Also, Old Town is flipping crap. The slums are way, way better.

I think I'm gonna send it back soon for Bloodborne.
