I wasn't familiar with Bladestorm, suzz, but it looks interesting judging by this Japanese trailer:

I've gone from knowing nothing about "Warriors" games to becoming a bit of a fan! I've still only scraped the surface with my first go at DW8 Xtreme Legends, though.

Bladestorm came out on 360/PS3 years ago, so I wonder why they're bothering to bring it back now?

Everything is coming back, Trelliz. I'm looking forward to Manic Miner HD++ Redux Remastered.

Should be pointed out that nightmare stuff is brand new, unless there were dragons in the original that I wasn't aware of.

Still not remotely interested in it.

I've never played a Dynasty Warriors game :shifty:

The Gundam one looks interesting, is it on the network now?

"It is a strategy game at its core, focusing around the historical events that transpired in Europe of the middle-ages,"

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-09-24-how-a-passion-for-zelda-is-driving-dynasty-warriors-to-fresh-audiences

"It's a personal opinion but I'd love to work with Star Wars one day, if I got the chance," Suzuki chuckled. Koinuma separately agreed. "Without any restrictions or anything, the ideal dream would be to work on Star Wars," he said. It feels like something that has definitely been discussed amongst team members - even if it was just down the pub.

That would be pretty cool - any other series that you think would work from getting a musou makeover? How about these:

Transformers - a bit too close to Gundam probably
Darksiders - nuff said really
Legacy of Kain - can't be any worse than the shitty f2p shooter they're doing
Batman - not sure how it'd work, on the streets of gotham fighting armies of goons?
Lego - Loads of different settings, areas etc, build your own battlefields and stuff like that
Metal Gear - big battlefields, ludicrously OP characters, lots of military kit

There's only one series that really needs a Musou game -

I like the idea of Transformers Warriors!

Dead Rising Warriors and Asura's Wrath: Warriors would also be ace!

I do like this series. I started out with Dynasty Warriors 3 on the PS2, played some of the later games and even dabbled in some of the spin-off games (Gundam and Orcohi) but by far my favourite series has been the Samurai Warriors games. I've stopped looking at the amount of hours I've put into Samurai Warriors 2 out of sheer embarrassment.

I am looking forward to Samurai Warriors 4, I'll probably get the PS3 download only version as I can't justify buying a PS4 for one game (unfortunately)

Please do not post this in the "No Context" thread

Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires coming to PC & PS3 as downloads, PS4 and Xbone as boxed copies

Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires launches on 30th January 2015 in Europe, Koei Tecmo has announced.

The action strategy game is due out for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in physical form, as well as a download on PC via Steam and PlayStation 3 via the PlayStation Network.

The Dynasty Warriors Empires games focus more on strategy and tactical battles than the mainline series. Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires includes 83 characters, as well as a character creation system. You can also customise your horse, banners and normal officers.

It's the latest game in developer Omega Force's long-running Dynasty Warriors series, which lets you play as famous warriors from Ancient China.

Also I normally hate le reddit rageface comics, but when they're adapted for DW, it makes them actually funny:

Time for a triple-post, but here's the trailer for Bladestorm: Nightmare

Another super-realistic depiction of the hundred-years war, complete with dragons this time.

PS3, PS4 and Xbone. Not coming to PC...yet. Given the upward trend in eastern games being ported - including DW8 Empires - there is still hope.

And in less good news, DW8 Empires is delayed by a month, now coming out at the end of February on PC, PS3, PS4 and Xbone. Kind of annoying, but we should be thankful it's coming at all - especially on PC. I guess DW8 did well enough to warrant it after all.

More PC good news:

Always wanted to give this a go; a more strategic DW game based on unit control rather than mad one-man-army characters. Plus you can fight an evil joan of arc who has dragons and gooseberry fool, so should still be a bit mad and out-there.

Great stuff, Trelliz - it's good times for Warriors fans!

Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires arrives on 27 Feb and Bladestorm Nightmare is due to hit on 20 March. I'm a recent convert to the Warriors series; I've only dipped my toes in the water but I've been pleasantly surprised. They're pure fun and I enjoy the sheer craziness of them. They seem to be packed with content, too.
