So basically, it's a gimmick version of media broadcasting but narrows your scope exclusively to e-sports related jobs.

I'm expecting them to bring me in as a Battlefield series expert and I can show them how to be a pro level medic or support player.

My first tip is to forget about K/D ratio's, all that matters is going for the most heroic revives and resupplies you can. It doesn't matter if you die a thousand times if you get that god tier clip of you going into the middle of a firefight and going on an epic 6 man revive spree or chucking ammo about like father christmas to help capture a flag and just look super bad-ass.

Tip 2, see tip 1.

Ah cool, I went there. If it help to legitimise eSports then it can't be a bad thing.

The staggering levels of immaturity, vileness and un-sportsman like conduct found in e-sports needs to be addressed first if it is to ever become legit.

Yep, it's why I just can't get into it at all as it's just so toxic.
I've been a game for over 30 years but watching people play and act like spoiled children when things go even slightly against them (or even when they win) is just not something I like associating with a hobby I enjoy.

As someone with a gaming-related degree (2:1 in Game Cultures, try explaining that to anyone over 35!) I am well used to the cringe-inducing embarrassment of trying to make my higher education seem legitimate. I don't envy these poor saps thinking an e-sports degree will get them where they want to be.

I'd argue a degree in game cultures is much more viable though as the medium of gaming as a whole is now part of our overall landscape.

Your degree I imagine would cover E-sports and I don't think E-sports needs to be a new topic in itself as it's still so new.

Interviewee:" Yes, I..."

I'm just grateful that I've now got almost 10 years of actual work experience on my CV, otherwise I'd be strawberry floated :slol:

Absolutely not, I like job security and sociable hours thanks

I guess the degree gave me some transferable skills, but I'm far better off with genuine work experience under my belt.

Living within a mile of the University I'd like to see if this gets eSports up and running in Stoke-on-Trent, unfortunately we're the only "city" in the country without an arena :fp:
