Sony have been making all the right noises building up to E3, but there's still time for their weak spot to be attacked for massive damage.

Conference was at 2am UK time. In recent years Sony have held the longest briefings, often around the 2 hour mark, and they stuck to that method once more.

Conference Timeline of Events
- Displaying classic form, Sony are over ten minutes late in starting the conference.
- Followed by the classic Sony montage.
- Jack Tretton onstage, first focuses on Vita and PS3. Confirms Vita releases of God Of War HD Collection, upcoming Final Fantasy remasters, and new Walking Dead (the good one) amongst other upcoming titles. Trailers for Last Of Us, Puppeteer, Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, GT6, Arkham Origins and a special GTAV bundle coming later this year.
- Console revealed! Looks alright, but really similar to the Xbox One (but angular!)
- TV, Films and Music! No.
- Yoshida (he's lovely) to talk PS4. Confirms at least twenty titles in development due for release within the first year, with twelve being new IP's. New IP from Ready At Dawn shown (The Order 1886), new footage of Killzone: Shadow Fall, DriveClub, inFamous Second Son and Knack. Appears to be gameplay footage interspersed with cutscenes, but no onstage demos.
- Quantic Dream tech demo excerpt. Is not gooseberry fool. Honestly worth watching, apparently titled The Dark Sorcerer.
- Indie montage. Confirmation that self-publishing will be on PS4, multiple games shown (seriously, eight were shown) . Oddworld Inhabitants!
- Square-Enix content. Thankfully it's the stuff people actually care about, Versus XIII (now XV) and Kingdom Hearts III. Plus a reminder about the Realm Reborn version of FFXIV, which will be both PS3 and PS4.
- Actual gameplay of Assassins Creed IV, putting to rest the idea that it's a 30-hour CG cutscene. Ran like gooseberry fool though.
- More Watch Dogs. Quickly reaching the point of over-saturation. At least it's still gameplay footage.
- Sports. Was mercifully short. As was Elder Scrolls Online. Good job Sony.
- Avalanche's Mad Max game. CG trailer, no gameplay shown. In Avalanche we trust.
- Tretton delivers the MEGATON. No online connection required. Used games supported. PS Plus carries over to PS4 which will, at launch, feature Drive Club PS Plus Edition. Plus a new title each month with Plus. Downside is that apparently online play will require Plus (so no longer free), but personally I don't have a problem with that if the IGC maintains a high level of quality. It's almost too beautiful a moment to put into mere words.
- Gameplay debut of Destiny. Looks great visually, appears to play well enough, but hardly setting the conference alight. However, genuine gameplay that isn't a hugely pre-scripted event is to be applauded.
- Gaikai talk. Disappointingly, no mention of PS1/PS2 games, only a service launching in 2014 that will allow streaming of PS3 games. No mention of whether a price will be required for the service (it is likely) and has only been confirmed as heading to the US initially.
- £349 launch price. Move along folks, show's over, Sony done won it.

A price less than $499 is all they really need but I'd like the following

-A new Ape Escape
-Music Unlimited for PS4 to include Vib Ribbon support
-64GB card for Vita at $50 or less
-Exclusive Vita games

I think Sony have a problem actually.

They can't do what MS did and just show games, but that's what everyone wants. They need to stay away from anything like Wonderbook and keep the graphs to an absolute minimum.

I think they might come in at £399, but its basically going to be a similar price to the Xbox One so I'm not sure they should even bother announcing at E3.

There is just no way it's going to be 2 hours worth of games, they get it wrong every time in regards to length.

Looking to be about 2 hours or so i'd say.

I reckon a fair chunk of this will focus on 'entertainment' aspects. Regardless of what Sony say this console will have entertainment features and stuff and E3 is generally the time to show that gooseberry fool off. In hindsight Microsoft may have done the right thing by getting all that out the way during their reveal. They'll still be a lot of games no doubt, a new Killzone demo, Watch_Dogs and Ass Creed 4 demos. Something from Final Fantasy as well as a few exclusive unveils. The big announcement is what they'll do pricewise. They've got a big opportunity here to get one over on Microsoft by announcing a much cheaper price. Anything higher and well..

Multiple skus at launch seems like a mistake to me if there is any risk of shortages.

I'm not expecting this to rattle on as quickly as the xbox conference, but, at two hours long, it doesn't need to. That should allow plenty of time for both Vita and PS3, with the main focus on the PS4 and, as they've had some time to react to MS earlier, I expect them to put out a special conference tonight. Like the MS conference, I don't really have any intention of picking up the console for anytime soon, but it will be exciting to see what Sony reveal, and how they they tackle the DRM issue and price.

Looking forward to the reveal of Jak 4 and Kingdome Hearts 3 in particular.

The lack of Japanese games at the Xbox conference has me hoping there will be lots of stuff to appeal to me here. Hoping they have a strong showing for Vita. Dreading the price point for the PS4. Really hoping for a Naughty Dog PS4 game reveal on the level of the Uncharted 2 E3 demonstration. I'm kind of hoping they move away from Uncharted a little, I felt let down with 3, but at the same time, despite his stubby legs, I have grown quite fond of Nathan Drake. The Last Guardian too.

Ohh the stream is doing something different o.O Pre-show?

By the way, some serious hype about a game being shown on the PS4 coming up, from twitter and also Michael Pachter on GT.
