I was just repeating what Jack Tretton said on Gametrailers.

And his superior said he was wrong.

Although, the Last Guardian getting a release is a bit like hoping Rare will announce a game that they're developing a game that doesn't have "Kinect" in the title. On the other hand, FF Versus did resurface and did get a more solid release date, so who knows?

Rex Kramer wrote:I honestly don't think Plus will stay at £40/year after the launch of the PS4, glad I'm stockpiled until September 2014. Apart from that though, £349 at launch and a plus freebie on day one is a sweet deal. If it had been £429 then I'd probably have waited but at that price I'm in at launch.

I missed all today's conferences, catching up now. The only reason I bought a 360 over a ps4 was because it was cheaper, neither had exclusives I cared for, they both had Mirrors Edge, though i've loved a lot of the xbox live games which i don't think have been available on the ps3 (actually some eventually were available, though not TrialHD).

I didn't play online but decided to twice, which was £70. When it came time to pay for it for another year, i think that I should have bought a ps3...i hate paying extra for online. I barely play it to be worth the money because it's such an inconsistent service dependent on your own internet connection, who else is using it at the same time in your house, what games you have, who else you can play with that you know, what random person you can play with who doesn't drive you mental, and then buying all the utterly overpriced poxy amount of extra levels that they release, you have to decide whether to pay all or nothing. I don't buy games full price ever, so the fixed online price and map packs are ways of forcing you to spend more than you think it's worth.

I'd rather this was £100 more at launch and had free online play. Because I wait for consoles to fall to under £200 anyway.

I'd rather this online subscription was cheaper with less extras, than more expensive with more, like all subscriptions it's not about using the cost to improve the quality of the service, it's using it to keep you kind of already at the stage where you've invested money into something then you're more likely to use and want to buy other games/levels to prolong your enjoyment of it.

Over the years, because it's going to be even longer until the next Playstation, it's going to add up to the cost of a new console. There is some people who don't don't care for every little indie game that's released, or every demo, or every game, or every online game, and want to dip in and out of videogames at the cheapest cost possible, subscriptions are just all or nothing, and it's a ball ache that the few indie games worth playing are scattered across the different platforms. If Nintendo and Microsoft could just give up and go software only after this gen, lets just declare Sony the eventual winner. Microsoft make a loss on each console, Nintendo make a profit,..even so, why do both, or any of them even bother. I'm reacting to them like they're politicians..all 3 claim to offer something different but all offer the same, and it makes you wonder why they're in it if it's not to represent something different. I suppose the pc is the unified system if you can be bothered with the hassle.

I honestly don't think Plus will stay at £40/year after the launch of the PS4,

I don't know if you mean it'll drop in price or go up. I think £10 isn't too bad. I just having to a buy a banana spliting console for mirrors edge don't i now. Just the odd cool games just appears, and it's less of a relief and more god dammit, i was through with games, I was happy. :(

And Jack Tretton confirms: he was talking specifically about online passes, and it's pretty clear that outright blocking of used games will not be allowed.
Any game that is made for PS4 that is physical goods, whether first-party or third-party, can go into a PS4 and play regardless of where it came from. The first player will play it, no problem, the second player will play it, no problem. What I was referring to was the online proposition. [This example was later given to me by a Sony spokesman: If you buy a used disc from GameStop, you’ll have no problem popping that disc in and playing it from your PlayStation 4. The issue may arise when you try to jump online and play with other players. At that point, a third-party publisher may impose a fee or not allow that.]
The easiest way to explain it is — if you understand how it works on PlayStation 3, then that’s the same way it will work on PlayStation 4. No changes there. We’ve been out for six and a half years. It’s the same experience.

That's some massive spin you are putting on that information.

Can someone please explain to me how anyone can objectively consider Xbox One a better choice? From where I am standing, I can't help but see anyone supporting the One as a having bias problems.

If you prefer the MS exclusives

Well they've got more of them for a start.

Its all about the games though yeah.

I find it hard to believe MS have more exclusives. From lists I can find it seems MS have so far announced 16 exclusive games, and Sony have 17.

And when you consider studios which haven't announced anything yet that is likely to push Sony's game count even further ahead.

Yeah, they showed more, certainly doesn't mean they have more.

Sony wrote:Our Worldwide Studios team has more than 30 PS4 exclusive titles in development, 20 of which will launch during the first year of PS4. The PS4 games feature 12 completely new IPs, including a game we unveiled tonight… The Order: 1886 from Ready at Dawn.

I'm starting to think Delusibeta is mental, he now can't make a post without slagghing of MS

Any new games shown on this? (PS+ and that?)

I'm not sure, but there's still Naughty Dog, Sony Santa Monica, and Guerilla Games with unannounced PS4 titles.

I meant that they showed more at their conference.

That's what was being talked about the comparison between the Sony and MS conferences. MS showed more exclusive titles than Sony, that's a fact.

This is true, but according to both parties' words to date, the PS4 has more exclusive titles in development.

But how relevant are those games?

Its hard to make a judgement when you haven't seen them.

Just watched that Used Games vid in the OP. Amazing, probably the biggest reaction I've seen in a conference for ages!

Games wot I worked on:
Night Call: Out now!
Rip Them Off: Out now!
Chinatown Detective Agency: 2021!
