PS3 managed to sell units when it was priced a similar amount more than 360.

I guess it'll come down to the games in the end.

If for example Titanfall really impresses everyone and becomes a must have, I don't see the PS4 distancing itself.

I do think that they may got to £399, maybe even with a game in.

Even that price with the new Kinect Sports in the box would make it more palatable.

Reminds me of Man City in a way, just chuck loads of money at something till it works and is successful.

Yeah probably. They have got deep enough pockets to do so though.

PC won't make a noticeable difference.

As for 360, it'll depend on what the differences are, reports seem to suggest that it could be doing quite a bit more on Xbox One than they are capable of producing on 360.

No gooseberry fool.

Hopefully they'll keep the 60fps update on 360 version, even if it is at the expense of resolution.

They love that gooseberry fool.

Those sort of customers are also price sensitive, which is why 360 did well. I can see a fair amount moving to PS4 for less money.

Only the numbers of any future DLC sales tell the publishers if the DLC exclusivity is a good idea.

So, what you saw last night...that's it!

:fp:

No, but i thought they'd show more games is all. Uncharted 4 would have been great, even just to know it was in development.

MS said some shite about having more studios now than ever before but I dont need to go talking about it cos they showed a gooseberry fool load of games lastnight.

Naughty Dog was probably busy with Last of Us to work properly on a brand new Uncharted game.

Nah...like I said, two teams. They've had two teams for how long now? A couple of years?

Well it's three if you include ICE.

What are the chances of MS doing a u-turn on their drm stuff and instituting a price cut? I can imagine a lot of people at HQ are sweating now and I would not be surprised if they were forced to act. As things stand they will get annihilated next gen.

In work there were people, who are not hardcore gamers, talking about the news from E3. Most were 360 owners and most were of the opinion that the PS4 was a better option. MS are going to lose a lot of their base unless they do something drastic.

I don't know, they basically said that consumers pay with their wallets, and not their opinions. But who knows, they must be nervous.

I'm going to say a big fat zero. They have reached the "too big to fail" tier now, having pumped too much into this a u-turn would be good for consumers, but not for them, and I think we can see where MS's priorities lie. This all smacks of absolute hubris and arrogance, where their customers are treated like criminals on parole, in a perverse model of feudal service that they are expected to pay for, over and over again.

Similar to the link posted above; Jesus Christ MS, they really have lost it, seems like they're not going to back down at all. I thought after Sony's showing they may flip flop.... Fishy is so right, Mattick is killing the brand. They're trying to extol the virtues of their on-line strategy with out really giving concrete evidence of what these are, quite possibly because there aren't any..... :fp:

They have yet to present a single situation in which having a compulsory connection is superior to having it as optional.

I love the line "If I was on a sub, I'd be disappointed."

The same way in that having anything compulsory is superior.

It means the games don't have to be designed so they can work without connecting to the internet.

Yeah, having something compulsory that people might not want or agree with, or may not even be possible for them, is superior. Come on, you're trolling, right?

No. Its not a bad thing, its a good thing...

If there is an optional feature, it means that developers can't take full use of it throughout there game because they have to design around people that don't have it.

If its compulsory then they don't have that limitation.

See how that could lead to something different and good?
