Hi guys. I haven't used Mumble before so am just trying to get it working before the event, I have to go to bed soon, so just need a little help please!

As I understand it is a group voice chat. I've downloaded and installed the Mac version and have my Apple headset connected (i also have a separate mic and speakers if need be.) I've connected to the GRcade server. Saw a couple of names, couldn't hear anyone, and didn't know what to do next. I had it set to push to talk but didn't know what the push button was. I switched Transmit to voice activity and then was suppressed! Any help appreciated, ta!

Set it back to push to talk and re-connect.

I'll jump on and go into one of the sub channels. When you connect, just drag your username onto the channel I'm in and I'll talk you through it.

Just out of interest, what is the 'age rating' of these discussions going to be? Can we swear like sailors or should we be more upstanding/well-spoken?

Good question. I might have trouble not saying shite occasionally, particularly if the conferences aren't very good :slol: but I'm happy to avoid the f- and c-words.

I have no problem with swearing.

The twitch channel has a mature content warning and we export streams from there to Youtube so I think the same should apply.

Nobody else in for Ubi? There's always plenty of talking points from it.

I'd do the Bethesda one, but am at work. If only E3 was the following week.

Same, I managed to get w/c 20th off, but not this week.

Just been testing my headset ready for tonight and I can't get it to pick up what i'm saying. I'm supposed to be going up to a mates later on so will see if they have one I can borrow for the night if I can't figure this out.

Mature content shouldn't nesasarily equal swearing. I eff and Jeff constantly and drop the spilt bomb far more than I should, but I find swearing in podcasts really unprofessional. In the retrocollect one, there's a guy who swears a lot it's pretty cringeworthy.

I agree if it's done excessively and deliberately it sounds really forced.

But I'll think on it and see how we get on.

Having difficulty setting this up.

I'm using the same Bose QC25s I use for PSN but it doesn't seem to let me output audio to the headphones and then use the mic to talk :?

Just to say that Joer has pulled out of the recording for EA at 11pm tonight if anyone wants to take his place.

Looking forward to hearing impressions of the EA conference.

I think I've got it set up now, annoyingly audio and speech wont sync so I have to use speakers to hear and headphones for the mic. It may take some getting used to.

That's weird. At least you've got it working though.

I upped the levels on the mic to max so hopefully it works for tomorrow, even if I'm still a little quiet. Not sure why it's failing to pick anything. :?

It was really weird. Not sure what was happening with it.

But we got through it. Got fifteen minutes in before I noticed my mic wasn't being recorded. :fp:

They call me two take Devlin.
