Seeing as i was at work when it happened is it worth me downloading the MS conference to watch it or really don't bother?

You should watch it. Rod and Todd make it all worthwhile.

I'm adding "Sony not showing The Last Guardian" to my list

PLAY | Final Fantasy VII Rebirth [92h]
WATCH | Ted Lasso S2, HiJack S1, The Apprentice S18
RACE | Westonbirt Half (March), Chew Valley 10k (June), GNR (Sept), Cardiff Half (Oct)

The vast majority of the Microsoft Conference.

Yes, it was entirely dedicated to Kinect apart from two games I don't care about and one I do, but Dance Central 2 (and Disneyland Adventures) looked brilliant. They do seem to be aiming at the "Parents with kids" market now, rather than the average 20-odd year old gamer.

Sony and Microsoft's conferences. Undoubtedly a solid showing and any existing owner has plenty to look forward to but I see no exclusives that make me really want to own either of them at this point in their lives.

Just to be selfish about it, I couldn't give a rat's ass how many more consoles they sell. As a current owner, if I've got plenty to look forward to, that's fine.

Not even Halo Anniversary and 4 could save the MS Conference. It all came to a head with the truly woeful looking Fable Journeys. If that's how the Kinect is supposed to appeal to the "hardcore" then I'm well and truly out.

Also, colour me unimpressed with the ME3 stuff that's come out. I know we haven't been shown any of the RPG stuff but it looked like Gears of War. Gears of War with shitty voice recognition.

No offense, but I think you're the only gamer on this forum who only owns a Wii. You must have a very distinct taste in gaming.

If the last 5 years have still not convinced you to own either of the other consoles, then I don't think this year was ever going to be any different for you.

There has only ever been the odd game to tempt me (WipEout HD, Bayonetta, Vanquish) but its never been enough. If I was single maybe Id have bought one on a whim but my whole family (Me, Kid, Missus) uses the Wii so I have other people to consider.

Although I lambasted them I think the cool Kinect tech coupled with a price cut might be enough to convince the missus to let me get a 360. I so want the new SSX. I still play SSX3 weekly to this day. And Rik seems to do OK.

Ignore the Kinect bollocks, 360 is still an excellent console to own.
