I know. But someone might only have a DS. Or only a Wii. As such could only have 1 out of the 4. If Nintendo didnt make that version then they would be missing out. Also I cant imagine many people are looking at NSMBU thinking, I'll wait till the next console as it will be backwards compatible.

So as I understand it there will be no upscaling of Wii games on Wii-U

I wonder if it's because things like upscaled NSMB Wii wouldn't look far off the Wii-U version. It would undermine the sense of it being a more powerful system I think, even though I'm a bit pissed off about it. If I get some time I'll dig around for some comparison shots.

Is it? The previous 2 games in that series launched to already big install bases, and the hardcore see that series as the weak link in the Mario platformer franchises (which it is).

I don't pretend to know much about upscaling and what not, but would there not be considerably less jaggies if a system is connected to a TV via HDMI?

I'm assuming it wouldn't completely smooth everything out. But would there be a small improvement?

I'd usually agree with you if anyone else had said it. You're talking about me here, the person least likely to put how attractive a woman is in front of what I think of something. :P

To be honest it just looks like it's slightly tilted.

Its probably the distance/angle combined with the lens warping it a bit. Found a vid of a man showing it here- http://www.joystiq.com/2012/06/07/engadget-goes-hands-on-with-wii-us-pro-controller/

If it was tilted to make the prongs look smaller then the triggers would be more prominent at the top when in fact you cannot see them at all. If anything it's tilted the other way which would make the prongs look longer, which it doesn't, they look shorter.

They definitely shortened them by a fair amount.

Swedish retailer estimates a high price for Wii U GamePad and Pro Controller.

The Swedish branch of retailer GAME has priced a range of Wii U accessories, including the Wii U GamePad and the Wii U Pro Controller.

The retailer estimates that the Wii U GamePad will cost SEK 1499 (GBP ~£135).

Meanwhile, the Wii U Pro Controller has been given a price tag of SEK 699 (GBP ~£62).

For sake of comparison, a Wii Remote Plus costs SEK 499 (GBP ~£45). Over here, a Wii Remote Plus would officially set you back £39.99.

These prices may not be final, however. The retailer points out that the "price & dates are tentative" and subject to change.

Earlier today, UK retailer ShopTo slapped a £279.99 price on Wii U.

A price or release date for Wii U has yet to be announced by Nintendo.

Sure, sure, that sounds utter rubbish but got me thinking how much would you be willing to pay for another motion controller?
