I got an iPod touch 16gb 6th gen silver from Asda for £60 as they were reduced.
Put it on eBay and the winning bidder at £147 is from the US??? He has 100 good feedback.
But isn't it odd that someone from the US would bid For an iPod touch from the UK?
Could it be the exchange rate/Brexit so US buyers are searching UK ebay?

Sounds like you should invest and buy 100.

Then ebay emailed saying I've sold through their global shipping programme. First time I've heard of this. So I only need to ship it to eBay in the U.K. Who will then forward it to the seller.

Sorry didn't know where else to post this as there is no ebay thread (well now there is hahaha)

So you know, the shipping program tracks your package so you'll be safe from it "getting lost". If the guy has decent feedback there's no real threat to you, as far as I know.

How you got an American buyer -- when you're selling an item, there's an area at the bottom of the selling page, in the postage section, that says something like "offer international shipping". It can be easy to miss; I once had the same thing happen to me because it was automatically selected that I'd sell it worldwide.

Sell it and strengthen the pound. :toot:

Thanks for the info on the shipping program. Atleast I received a higher bid for it. Anyway £147 translates to $179 but it retails for $199. Plus not including shipping. Does the shipping program calculate shipping separately and charge the buyer?

Yep. When he bought your item he'll have paid an extra amount knowingly. The extra charge he paid won't show up on your main ebay page.

Basically he's paid you what your owed, and he's paid a separate charge to ebay for international delivery.

Ah cool thanks for that.

Just hope that it's going airfreight. Shipping by sea takes ages and there's always the chance of someone rocking the boat and making a splash.

Thanks I might just do that. Cheers

eBay shipping program is safe, just send it to their centre and they cover any issues after that as the seller deals with eBay.

Yeah the program is awesome, you are responsible for getting it to the UK address they give you, after that your all good, I've used it a couple of times. Brilliant idea from eBay.

I sold Jaws blu ray steenbook on eBay last week and now the buyer has changed his mind and has asked for a return.
Bay says that I don't have to accept the return but if I do then it would include the postage cost so I will be losing out a bit.
I asked the buyer if he could just keep it and sell it on himself but he said he would rather return it to me.
Not sure if to continue and decline it or accept the return.

Did your listing have the no returns option selected?

So he's watched it and wants his money back?

I'd be saying no way. Besides, you have no idea what condition the disc is in now. Could be he wants to return it because he's scratched it to hell.

I think it was selected automatically which is possibly why eBay mentions that I don't have to accept the return but is just giving me the option to.

true and then i'll be at a loss.
Not sure he said he bought it for a friend but didn't realise his friend already has it which is why he wants to return it. Its also the special edition with a steenbook...he paid £27 plus £3 postage. I'll have to refund the full £30 if I accept.

Don't see why you should have to cough up £3 for his mistake. Say no.

Yeah tell him to sod off, if there is no fault you don't have to do anything. Bollocks to the banana split, he is just being a dick eBay users that uses the thing once then returns for "reasons"

I had one do it with a gameboy advanced, I said it was used they said the cindition wasn't good enough and kicked up a stink about it.

I was like mate you buy something marked "used" it may have some marks, and it was all in the pictures I posted with he item.

EBayers can be right tossers.
