So you know, the shipping program tracks your package so you'll be safe from it "getting lost". If the guy has decent feedback there's no real threat to you, as far as I know.

How you got an American buyer -- when you're selling an item, there's an area at the bottom of the selling page, in the postage section, that says something like "offer international shipping". It can be easy to miss; I once had the same thing happen to me because it was automatically selected that I'd sell it worldwide.

Sell it and strengthen the pound.

Yep. When he bought your item he'll have paid an extra amount knowingly. The extra charge he paid won't show up on your main ebay page.

Basically he's paid you what your owed, and he's paid a separate charge to ebay for international delivery.

I think it was selected automatically which is possibly why eBay mentions that I don't have to accept the return but is just giving me the option to.

true and then i'll be at a loss.
Not sure he said he bought it for a friend but didn't realise his friend already has it which is why he wants to return it. Its also the special edition with a steenbook...he paid £27 plus £3 postage. I'll have to refund the full £30 if I accept.
