PosteBay refund.
by Glowy69 » Mon Sep 16, 2013 4:25 pm

Guys

I've sold a game on eBay, haven't sent it yet. But it was paid for Saturday by the buyer. My description states there are no returns accepted.

Yet he messages me half hour ago saying he wants to cancel? Can he do this?

No he can't. Send it anyway and just tell him he was too late and no refunds. If you let him cancel you've still get seller fees after all.

I've sent him a message saying I sent it this morning and only just got home from work. Gonna update it as shipped now.

Splinter cell.

He is now saying that he bought it as a present and intended to give it today. Being as he bought it at 11:00pm on Saturday night not quite sure how he expected to get it today.

Methinks he has found it cheaper somewhere else.

Do I back down or tell him to do one?

Anyone who uses a birthday as a reason on ebay is a liar 95% of the time. The guy doesn't have a leg to stand on here, you sent it on the first working day with no delay.

Well... :shifty: its being sent tomorrow. But still the postage does state 2-5 working days. I haven't done anything wrong or advertised it incorrectly.

I've checked with eBay support and they've said it's up to me, unless he raises a dispute in which case they could force me to give him his money back. :fp:

I would reconsider going ahead with sending the item. He'll just pretend that he hasn't received it and raise a dispute so it will be up to you to prove that you did by using recorded delivery, otherwise you'll have to refund.

But if you do send by recorded delivery he'll be able to catch you on the lie where you said you already dispatched the item today. He'll highlight the fact when raising a dispute for a refund and that won't look so favourable on you. Probably not the best position to be in since eBay already favours buyers over sellers 95% of the time.

Refund him his money. Ebay side heavily on the buyer. Not worth the hassle.

I wouldn't send it - why risk him raising a dispute? Ebay/paypal are banana splits who are gooseberry fool scared of scaring off buyers so much they hobble a sellers ability to call out bad/fraudulent/scamming buyers.

You should be able to claim a fee refund as the buyer has backed out. Then just relist it. Remember to sent it 'at least' by recorded delivery otherwise you'll open yourself up to being screwed over

eBay stopped letting sellers leave negative or neutral feedback five years ago :fp:

I am thinking of what to write if I'm honest. It's the grey button which I assume is neutral. I have reported him for being a banana split as well.
