So who moved the topic right before the end to prevent it tipping out of favor? ;)

:( Sorry, I'll have you know that it was definitely the best one though. When I first spotted it I thought it sounded like the good kind of joke account. Only available from Raze.

"Playtendo 360"... :fp:

Well I've deleted that account now, along with a few others.

Well you'll be sorry when we need to rely on a 'regular' account in the future!!

(Good call. 8-))

Since I somehow won, can we move this thread back so that the forum can see the result? Jesus, it couldn't have been closer!

I don't think moving the poll back would help much TBH, better to just scrap it and forget about it.

Agreed. Okay, moving on... Oh, and Steve or Garth, any chance I'm gonna see Eighthours name turn green? Not nice to keep him waiting when the polls closed nearly an hour ago. Do it now and the majority of the forum can wake up to a brand new Mod tomorrow. Which will be nice for them.

Agreed! I'm off to bed now or otherwise I'll end up doing something bad to Prototype's account!!!

Welcome to the Mods, Mike! What on Earth have you done!!!!

Does the forum actually know the result, though? Having given them the poll, it seems crazy not to show it!

There are complications though, with votes cast by fake accounts, account deletions, and the poll having been moved before the voting time was up...

Are votes from deleted accounts counted in the poll, or are they deleted along with the account?

No, that's exactly how the poll ended. The beef the forum could potentially have with it though is that Steve moved the topic here about 5 minutes before it ended, and there were probably a bunch of jokers waiting to vote right at the last minute for some reason.

Joke accounts and ill-considered votes, abstinence and forum frolicks aside, you won anyway, however tight the result is. All these mishaps can go either way. Everyone could probably vote Goat to be a mod if they wanted to be that stupid.

I'm not altogether sure on that, once the fake accounts were going overboard I was in the admin control panel clearing them out (I also switched on the feature that requires an admin to activate new users before they can do anything, but it was a bit late for that - should've thought of it earlier).

I say move it back and lock it. At least then, people can see that the result did happen. Hey, if you turn me green, it could be my first act as mod!
