And what have you done to his face, Proto? You've done something wrong in Photoshop as it looks like his nose is melting down his filtrum!

He looks insane in that. I don't want insane people modding on the forum. I haven't voted yet but that's swung it for me.

No. And I used Paint. Adjusted the percentage figures to.

I only just remembered this, but last night I had a dream it was the apocalypse (Nuclear Bombs and gooseberry fool).

Anyway in part of the dream I was back on the Leicester Uni campus, I can't remember what for, but I do recall that I saw Eighthours and his mum strolling about. I didn't go over and say hello for the fear of looking foolish.

Is this some kind of sign?

Poll's swaying to no at the moment. I'm quite surprised it's so well balanced, and I agree that it's probably a lot of people that just want the same mods or less mods, and Eighty has his detractors. I've voted yes, because I've never had a serious problem with him and on the whole he did well on GR even if he maybe over-debated some people and they got really pissed off and then it went in circles and derailed some epic topics.. but the majority of the time he's well informed and backs up his points, one of the strongest debaters GR ever had.

I'm just disappointed he has one of the most mundane professions I can imagine. ;)

I strongly support that the voted outcome, even when it is this balanced, be honored. This isn't the CPC.

Here's an idea for the future: multiple proven impartial members are appointed as a vote counters (for example, three), and forumites must register their voting, just like the gov's system, and then send PMs to register their vote to all the counters (this avoids one counter from controlling the results) with a mandatory reasoning for their vote. A mean average is calculated to determine the final vote count for the poll options and, obviously, the most votes wins.

Such a system would prevent voters influencing each other, people would be less likely to bother sending spammy votes because they would be more easily identified and it would be more useful to know why votes were made.

"It should be common sense to just accept the message Nintendo are sending out through their actions."

I voted yes, but no getting rid of consolegaming just for his stupid remarks. I need someone to argue with for fun  And he's fun for entertainment.

I only read the first few pages, there's no way I'm reading 29 pages....but has Solarisxd made the transition over to here? That comment sounds like him.

Just to spice this up a bit in the final hour and a half: If I lose the poll, I will also be resigning as a GRcade Founder immediately.

I have repeatedly said in this thread that making me a mod would not really affect the running of the forum. However, it's clear that some of you think there would be a "tonal shift" and various other gubbins - which is entirely incorrect.

With that in mind, however, I've been considering things over the past few hours. It's my view that a "no" vote from you guys would indicate that the majority of the forum are not happy with, or don't trust, me being involved in key decisions made by the GRcade staff, and I would therefore choose to remove myself from such a role in that scenario, since the community's majority feelings on the matter would have been made clear.

I contend that such a verdict would be the wrong one. I am proud of my record of posting on GR, and of the very hard work I put in during this place's conception and inception. A "no" would therefore be a rather upsetting outcome, given that I thought my role here was supported, and bearing those factors in mind, but it is your judgement to make, and I'm a firm believer in the theory that all our decisions result in consequences. Sometimes, these are unforeseen but necessary consequences.

Without a mandate from you guys, I would not be prepared to continue in my present role, and I would go back to being a normal poster with no access to the Staff Room, no input into staff decisions, and a much reduced time commitment to this place. I'm sure you can understand why. Having the majority of voters decide that I'm not up to the job would be a real slap in the face, given my loyalty to all of you over the years, but democracy rules, and if you don't want me as part of the staff of this place (as the poll suggests at the moment), then that's your right. It's also my right to react to your decision in the way I see fit. If you think I'm pressing the nuclear button, you could be right, but if the vote remains the same come poll closing time, I'm going to be not only disappointed, but forced to reassess the worth of my contributions here.

(How's this poll working out for you, tnny? )

Just be a mod, and go on a date with Cal.

Maybe then you'll both be happy :D

Don't do that. That's a bit extreme.

This is why the thread should have locked & why the decision should have been made in TSF.

I think resigning your founder status is a little extreme Eighty, I think it's obvious to nearly everyone that some of the votes were done to make the result as close/tight as possible.

We should set up a new poll & ask people to just vote on the issue instead of playing silly buggers.

As you said, being a founder doesn't give you any more powers; seeing as you helped set the forum up, you should keep your Founder status regardless.

I don't think we should trust the founders, there's something not quite right about them...
